Opinion | Iran and the Taliban will continue to approach Israel today

Over the past two decades, America has joined forces with its enemies - the Taliban and Iran. Recent developments in Afghanistan are not only shaping the region, but world politics as a whole. Recent developments in Afghanistan are not only shaping the region, but world politics as a whole.

The Taliban took control of the entire territory, and encountered no resistance from the Afghan army, which seemed to support the coup when it surrendered to the terrorist organization.

20 years and a trillion dollars have not prevented the Afghan Taliban from reaching Kabul.

Although the organization has pardoned everyone, and every few days pledges to take care of women's rights, the reputation of the Taliban has prevented people from believing in the truth of their statements.

There is also the unpopular claim - or the one that is avoided - that it is "Taliban 2.0", which is a whole new generation that is aware that the world has changed in the last 20 years.

They even admitted that mistakes were made the last time the Taliban ruled Afghanistan.

Pakistan, in particular, has been accused by the Americans of playing a double game in recent years.

Pakistan has a lot to gain from the latest developments.

The end of Indian influence on Afghanistan means that Pakistan will be able to stabilize the uprising in Balochistan province, which New Delhi is said to be backing.

Regarding the Pakistani Taliban (TTP), these terrorist groups have caused more than 70,000 casualties within Pakistan.

They are responsible for hundreds of terrorist attacks, and after an operation by the Pakistan Army they hide inside Afghanistan and operate from there from time to time.

Now, the Taliban have declared that they will not allow anyone to act against any country from Afghan soil.

From an economic point of view, Afghanistan, which has no access to the sea, has always been a source of trade - especially for people living in neighboring countries.

Moreover, Afghanistan is also a way of accessing Pakistan for Central Asian countries.

At the same time, for the countries adjacent to Afghanistan, the US presence was not perceived as positive.

Beyond that, Pakistan in particular is considered challenging for Washington, both because of China and because of India.

As for China, the "China-Pakistan Economic Corridor" (CPEC) is considered a beneficial venture for Pakistan, but the Americans do not like it.

Due to the lack of a US physical presence in the region, there is a growing chance that Pakistan will become beneficial to the US, as it is the only democratic country bordering Afghanistan.

At the same time, after many years, the situation on the western border of Pakistan has stabilized.

An important situation given the difficulty of managing it simultaneously with the “semi-hot” eastern border with India.

Given that there is currently a fence on the western border and in Kabul there is a government that is not anti-Pakistani, there is a sense of relief in Islamabad.

Iran is calmly observing

Pakistan has the challenges it faces, and perhaps it is surprising that these are not extremists within the country - but rather countries with revolutionary characteristics that are "beyond the door".

Iran is calmly observing the situation, except for a few Afghan border guards who have failed to take action against the Taliban.

For the past two decades, America has united its enemies - the Taliban and Iran.

This time, the Taliban paid homage to Afghan Shiites during a confiscated month - and even provided them with security.

Meanwhile, in recent developments it has emerged as China as a regional key power, rapidly replacing the US with Afghanistan. We can sense the Chinese dragon dance movements in the mountains of Afghanistan.

China's biggest interest is in trade.

However, the biggest concern is the export of terrorism from Afghanistan to Xinjiang province in western China.

Through Beijing's commercial and diplomatic contacts with the Taliban, China is not only addressing its biggest concern - but also paving its way through Afghanistan to Iran, which has in fact emerged from the "Belt and Road" venture.

The Taliban, on the other hand, need not only legitimacy, but also backing from the world powers.

While the world is troubled by the plight of ordinary people in Afghanistan, especially women and minorities, the Taliban are interested in a comprehensive political management system.

This is why they have not yet announced their prime minister and the structure of government.

Anak Hakani began to meet with the Afghan political leadership.

The Taliban seem to be interested in a broad political base, which is very much needed for their legitimacy.

After all this chapter, comes the stage of corruption: there is no nation building, no army and no political system.

Only now has President Biden noted at a news conference that the rapid collapse of the Afghan government and army came as a surprise.

I will add that the stunning thing for them is that they have provided the Afghans with training, resources and a lot of money over the last 20 years.

Although there was no protest when the Taliban took over, when they tried to replace the Afghan flag - they encountered crowds taking to the streets to protest and support the national flag, illustrating that there is no connection between the Afghan leadership and the ordinary citizens who are not "owned".

This is one of the main reasons the Taliban was given this opportunity.

ISIS 'strong presence in Afghanistan

Afghanistan has always had special strategic significance for Pakistan.

However, it may be the same for Tehran.

The undemocratic Iran will come even closer to the Taliban by not threatening them with its allies within Afghanistan.

In the future, these relationships may become even stronger with the help of oil supplies and other products.

Especially if the world imposes sanctions on Afghanistan.

The recent explosions in Kabul have illustrated ISIS 'steady presence in Afghanistan, where al-Qaeda is already present and we have no proof of its complete cessation of activities.

In the coming days, ISIS will pose a emerging challenge, not only for the region but for the entire world.

Afghanistan is a different territory from Iraq and Syria, with a completely different background in the past four decades.

It is highly likely that ISIS will find a fertile recruiting conduit for terrorist groups in the area, which will make the situation much more complicated.

ISIS and al-Qaeda have an international outlook.

But ISIS, which has implemented its seizure in different parts of Iraq and Syria, is also better known for its anti-Shiite seizure.

Iran is a country with a Shiite majority in a neighborhood where there are anti-Shiite elements.

Security is not an issue that amounts to guns and fighting, but now the central security paradigm is concentrated in technology and cyber - and Israel can help in this area for the countries of the region.

Israel must look at the situation in Afghanistan carefully, and perhaps even expand the scope of its friendship in the region.

Riyadh and Islamabad may be the next cities where a normalization agreement will be signed.

Following the dramatic change in US policy in the region and Iran, China has an opportunity to move closer to Israel, and it will not be a surprise if Beijing leads to a normalization of Israeli-Pakistan relations.
