Penzberg - The Penzberg fire brigade took stock of their meeting.

It was also elected: There is a new chairman.

The Penzberg fire brigade also had to do well in 2020 when Corona drove down life.

There were 170 missions.

This is the number given by Commander Christian Abt at the annual meeting.

The volunteers of the Penzberg fire brigade have already deployed 102 times this year.

This number reports its own statistics last Wednesday (August 25).

If this continues, the result of 2020 will be outbid.

At that time, the military was called 170 times (2019: 190).

Commandant Christian Abt presented his balance sheet at the meeting in the tool shed.

The "biggest chunk" with 112 missions last year was the technical assistance, recalled Dept. The "biggest annoyance" remain the false alarms: 33 times fire alarm systems and home smoke detectors alarmed the volunteers for free in 2020 (2019: 24).

But the commander did not want to demonize this technology.

After all, the notifications are more than useful - in the past two years they have "prevented major damage" in 25 cases.

"Corona has restricted us"

The pandemic drove back fire service life in 2020.

"Corona has restricted us tremendously," said Dept. Less training and exercises, a consistent division into two groups without contact with each other, fewer crews in the vehicles.

Abt still recorded 2616 hours of use and 537 hours of practice (in 2019 it was 4270 hours of use).

The commander had to make one experience in the two years: "Above average number of chimney fires" occurred.

In addition, batteries from e-bikes kept catching fire.

Abts appeal: Always charge batteries outside and only “when you are at home”.

Penzberg's fire brigade currently has 111 active members, and according to the commanding officer, the proportion of women is 18 percent.

There are also eleven members of the youth team as well as eleven boys and nine girls in the children's fire brigade.

Mayor Stefan Korpan (CSU) praised the voluntary work and the cooperation with the military on the part of the city: "You do everything in your free time," said Korpan in the direction of the active members.

A commitment that is “not affordable”, according to the mayor.

New domicile remains an issue

As much as he praised the commitment, the town hall chief stepped on the brakes at the blue light center in the Layritzhalle.

The need is there, but a new domicile in the hall “is simply a cost factor”, says Korpan.

“That is not feasible.” However, “everything was possible” to find a solution, he promised, but immediately restricted: “It has to be affordable.” The district fire council would rather see action at last: “We have been expressing our will for 15 years Heard for a long time, now we have to get speed in, ”warned Rüdiger Sobotta, former commandant in Penzberg, audibly in a bad mood.

Otherwise there were words of praise from Sobotta: In contrast to politics, the fire department's own step-by-step plan from March 2020 saw the beginning Corona crisis "one step ahead".

Kollmuss new chairman

The 100-member association is now headed by Joachim Kollmuß.

The previous vice-president was elected to succeed the former mayor Elke Zehetner at the top.

This post is usually occupied by Penzberg's town hall chief - but the corpan elected to office in 2020 had decided not to run and preferred to be elected deputy chairman.

Kollmuss "does a very good job" and is involved in the matter, Korpan justified his decision.

The new board of directors

Joachim Kollmuß (chairman), Stefan Korpan (deputy chairman), Michael Günl (treasurer), Sabine Schweiger (deputy treasurer), Petra Sobotta and Ulrich Kattler (both auditors) as well as Bastian Bergel and Jan Heinemeyer (both confidants of the team) and Rüdiger Plankensteiner (Confidant of the management ranks).

"Much brought on the way"

Elke Zehetner had previously drawn a satisfied balance after seven years at the top of the club.

“A lot has been put on the way as a fire brigade,” she said.

This ranged from the duck race to participating in the city anniversary to the “Törggelen-to-go” last year and the establishment of a “fire brigade gang” as a children's group.

At the end there was applause and flowers for the outgoing chairwoman.

Vehicle dedication is pending

The next happy event for the Penzberger Wehr is on Sunday (September 5th): A vehicle inauguration is planned for the anniversary.
