When the protection from the third dose is significant already a week after receiving it.

Among severely ill patients aged less than 60, 4% were vaccinated six months ago and 5% seven months ago.

The study included about one million eligible for the vaccine between July 30 and August 22.

The surgery compared the chances of infection and serious illness of people who were vaccinated with the third dose to those of people who were vaccinated with two doses of vaccine.

The effects of age, gender, sector, vaccination dates and time elapsed from receiving the second dose were taken into account.

The study showed that the booster dose provides 10 times improved protection against infection and severe illness among those who chose to be vaccinated with a third dose, compared with those who were vaccinated with only two doses.

The study demonstrates the effectiveness of administering a third vaccine dose in preventing infection and preventing serious illness, and gives an indication of the potential for reducing the morbidity of the Delta variant by impulse.

Dr. Sharon Elrai Price, Head of Public Health Services at the Ministry of Health: “One study shows us that as time goes by the time a person is vaccinated decreases.

So people who were vaccinated in January are twice as likely to get sick than those who were vaccinated in March.

We realized that protection from the vaccine was declining.

Another study shows that the third dose increases 10 times protection against infection and serious illness compared to vaccinated people who received a second dose more than half a year ago.

In other words, the third dose reduces not only serious illness but also the risk of being verified. "

According to the decisions made, starting on October 1, the green label will be canceled for those who have passed more than five months of receiving the second dose.
