Chinese archaeologists have discovered the ruins of an ancient kingdom dating back about 5,000 years in southwestern Sichuan Province.
Xinhua quoted Xiong Qiaoqiao, who leads the excavation project, as saying today that the archaeological site located in Chengdu was found in October last year, which is an ancient kingdom dating back at least 4,800 years.
Xiong added that the excavations from March to August of this year led to the discovery of more than 80 ancient tombs and more than 10 home ruin sites dating back to the Western Shu Dynasty, in addition to the discovery of a large number of bronze vessels, jade vessels and pottery, including a seal. Bronze, willow-leaf sword and other typical artifacts of the ancient Shu civilization.
It is noteworthy that the ancient kingdom of Shu lasted for more than 2000 years.
