The meeting of Dr. Lubana Mushawah, Minister of Culture, with writers and intellectuals at Tishreen Hall in Aleppo today focused on the need to elevate the cultural reality in the governorate by activating the ministry’s programs and taking care of theater arts and holding cultural events such as seminars, lectures and literary festivals to consolidate and build human thought.

He called on the attendees to restore and open cultural centers in the city, countryside and neighborhoods that were affected by terrorism, and to take care of young writers and young talents and educate them by holding courses for actors in the field of cinema and theater, providing support for plastic art, reactivating salons and literary forums, and holding cultural festivals to remind Arab poets, writers and writers throughout history.

A number of intellectuals and writers also called for speeding up the rehabilitation and restoration of the Palace of Culture in Aleppo, placing it within the reach of the cultural movement, and creating a weekly newspaper or magazine for cultural, intellectual and literary creativity, and participatory book printing between the Ministry of Culture, the Arab Writers Union and the Arabic Language Academy.

Minister Mushawah pointed to the importance of culture in building human thought and consolidating the individual's belonging to his land, stressing the ministry's support for all activities and events targeting young writers through holding competitions and literary debates in the fields of story and novel and writing theatrical text in order to enhance cultural values, in addition to continuing to license music institutes and holding theater training courses to contain this talent.

She referred to the efforts made to support plastic artists through the establishment of art and sculpture forums in the governorates, and the interest in highlighting archaeological and historical sites through the establishment of cultural and literary activities in them, and working to implement a project to preserve and preserve the intangible heritage through its documentation.

The meeting was attended by Imad Jalloul, Director of Theaters at the Ministry of Culture, and Jaber Al-Sajour, Director of Culture in Aleppo.
