A video that went viral on the networks shows how Brazil became the largest exporter of beef in the world in the last 60 years while Argentina fell back from the restrictions.
The video follows the path taken by Brazil over the last 60 years to become the world's largest exporter of beef.
According to data from the United States Department of Agriculture, since the beginning of the millennium it has remained on the podium, alternating positions, until reaching first place.
In 2020, the neighboring country
shipped 2.5 million tons
of the 10,500 million that were traded in the world in total that year.

In addition, it was clarified that "the Brazilian challenge from now on is to add value to the exported bovine protein, maintaining productive efficiency and adequate costs in the activity. The average price paid per ton of Brazilian beef is less than $ 5,000 While in the United States, for example, it already exceeds US $ 7,000 on average. "
Meanwhile, Argentina was in the first place from 1960 to 1970 but then it was alternating until it was the second world exporter from 1976 to 1984.
Later, in the 90s, he alternated positions in the top ten until reaching the podium again in the new millennium.
However, after the
closure of exports in 2006
by Néstor Kirchner it left the ranking of the 10 main meat exporting countries and only returned in 2017.
When Argentina had been recovering ground in this business, especially due to the boom that sales to China meant, occupying the country with almost 900,000 tons in 2020,
the Government of Alberto Fernández intervened exports and imposed a total first stocks, and now, of 50%
.
The rule that restricts meat exports expires this Tuesday, so it is not yet defined what the government will do, since it has the power to extend the provision again.
