We tested the new realme headphones | Israel today

2021-08-29T09:34:00.420Z

Realme's Buds Q2 are very compact cordless headphones that have managed to surprise me for good, even in relation to their convenient price tag

The realme smartphone brand, which belongs to the Chinese BBK corporation (which also owns Oppo and OnePlus, among others), has already become a seller in Israel.

realme is not only known in Israel in the worlds of smartphones, but also in the categories of headphones and smart watches, thanks to convenient pricing.

The Buds Q2 are sold with a particularly accessible price tag of NIS 130, when their performance is surprisingly good.

Design and Control: Buds Q2 - Cute and Blue

The Buds Q2 feel cheap at first glance.

The carrying case is made of hard plastic and the headphones themselves do not give an expensive feeling.

On the other hand, the blue color, their compact design and their comfort in the ears, compensates for everything.

In the center of the headphones in the outer part, where the touchpad is located, there is a layer that has received a kaleidoscopic design spring that changes shape according to the viewing angle.

Which creates an interesting look for them.

In case you were wondering, Buds Q2 has protection against sweat in the IPX4 standard, so it is no problem to practice with them.

For headphone control, use touch gestures, for example, double touch for play / pause or triple touch on the right side that will move to the next track and on the left side to the previous track.

There is no option to control the volume in the headphones themselves.

The realme Link application allows customization of the buttons.

Sound and Conversations: Buds Q2 - Good sound for the price

In terms of sound, one has to understand in advance that these are very cheap headphones, so my expectations were not particularly high.

The sound quality is surprisingly good, as the headphones support SBC and AAC encoders and have 10mm dynamic drivers. On the other hand, it is not a very clean sound, with depth and when you select Bass Boost + through the app, it mutes the sound and "dynamic mode The "trouble" is felt too much.

For phone call management, realme has incorporated a technology called ENC (Environmental Noise Cancellation) designed to filter out ambient noise during calls.

She is not really successful in this task, but it is possible to make calls with the Buds Q2 on the street as well and they will still hear you well.

Battery: Buds Q2 - Outdated charging connection

The playing time of the Buds Q2 is 5 hours, with the carrying case up to 20 hours (total).

The surprisingly charging connector is micro USB, a puzzling choice of realme to charge its customers to carry around a charger different from the one in its smartphones.

Also, there is no way to know the battery status in the carrying case because there is no such indication, neither on the case nor in the app.

For the headphones there is an indication in the app.

Price

: NIS 130 (in the Bug chain)

Bottom line, if you do not want to spend hundreds of shekels on cordless headphones, the realme Buds Q2 are easy to use, have good sound in relation to the price and you can even make phone calls with them without interruption.
