Sri Lanka announced today that it had detected about 60,000 infections with the new “super delta” mutant of the Corona virus.
"The number of patients admitted to the hospital for treatment of the (Super Delta) mutant has reached 59,796," Xinhua news agency quoted Sri Lankan Ministry of Health officials as saying, warning that this strain is spreading very rapidly.
Sri Lanka raised the state of alert in hospitals and health centers across the country, after detecting many infections with the “Super Delta” mutator, which was first discovered in South Africa.
