Blessed and repented: in the
canopy temples "If I forget you", and quite ironically this is exactly what Rabbi Mordechai Gottlieb now wants to do.
Rabbi Gottlieb, known as the Rebbe of Ashlag and the leader of the Hasidic community in Kiryat Ya'arim, surprised many last week when he arrived at the wedding of public relations woman Tzipi Romano with her partner Noa Meshesh and congratulated the two. The ultra-Orthodox and the religious were outraged, and he was severely criticized, which even led him now to regret the act and repeat it.
"Harini regrets that I went to an event where two women allegedly got married. I wish I had not done so," the rabbi said in a videotaped clarification.
He said that Romano and Mashash asked him to come and wish them a happy life and so he did.
"I innocently wanted to keep the words of our holy Rabbi Moshe Cordoviro quoted in Tomer Deborah, that Gd nourishes and provides for even his opponents and if a person wants to cling to Gd so man also deserves to do, nourish and rejoice even those who had to go against the way of Gd," he added.
"Bloody and deceitful people took advantage of my presence there and spread a plot as if I had married them," the rabbi claimed.
"Grace and peace that I will do something against the Torah and Halacha. This Torah will never be replaced and all the phenomena of the LGBT are completely forbidden according to the Torah."
Following the storm surrounding the case, Rabbi Gottlieb has announced that he will temporarily stop teaching classes through the various media.
"Because this walk caused blasphemy, and because there were so many idiots who plotted, so without a vow I will stop all classes in the near future in the various media," he said.
The Rebbe of Ashlag is Romano's rabbi in her Kabbalah studies and advocates unity and dialogue between all types of populations including the bride and support of the LGBT community.
"Everyone understands that for an ultra-Orthodox Jew such a status is not simple, because our sacred teachings are a doctrine of life," he said, among other things, during the canopy class.
"Its commandments and laws are for the good of man, but when people travel the paths of life not according to the accepted movement, we must contain it with great love."
