Erlangen - A train attendant expelled a person who refused to wear a mask in Erlangen from an ICE - the man then threw stones at the train.

The 40-year-old wanted to take the ICE from Bamberg to Nuremberg * and did not wear a mandatory FFP2 mask, the federal police announced on Monday.

When he had to leave the train in Erlangen on Saturday evening, the passenger was so angry that he first threw a glass bottle at the train attendant, but missed him.

Afterwards, the 40-year-old tried to hit the train employee with stones, but instead damaged a pane of the train.

Finally the man fled and left his luggage on the platform.

Several federal police patrols later arrested him near the Erlangen * train station.

He is said to have fought violently against this.

It was also said that he had a forbidden switchblade with him.

According to the Federal Police, the suspect has no residence in Germany and is now in custody.

He has to answer for a number of crimes.
