Apple or Android?
This question arises at the latest when a new smartphone, tablet or a new smartwatch has to be purchased.
It's almost a question of faith.
Both systems have their advantages.
It becomes difficult, however, if you want to combine iOS and Android.
In particular, when expensive Apple products such as the AirPods Pro * and the Apple AirPods Max are greatly reduced, many technology fans want to strike immediately.
But do Apple devices and Android devices even go together?
Find out
if
AirPods
are
compatible with Android
.
Are AirPods compatible with Android devices?
The answer is clearly yes!
AirPods can be connected very well to an Android smartphone.
While the Apple Watch is still fully bound to iPhones and iOS, the
AirPods
can be
used like normal Bluetooth headphones
.
The coupling does not work as fast as with an iPhone, but it is still easy enough.
In addition, the most important functions are retained.

What functions do Apple AirPods offer with an Android device - and which do not?
If the Apple AirPods are connected to an Android device, then they functioned like other Bluetooth headphones.
Here you can find out
which functions the AirPods
still have at the ready
in connection with an Android device
.
Similar to iOS, you can
control music playback via the AirPods
.
The double tap gesture also works, which means you have to double-tap one of the headphones to stop or start playback.
Of course, you can also use the AirPods to watch
films and series and listen to all the audio content that
is normally played on the Android device.
Apple provides a graphical interface for iOS with which you can set the AirPods.
These settings are of course lost on an Android.
But the AirPods have the
implemented gestures with which you activate noise canceling or the transparency mode.
On an iPhone, users can track the battery capacity of the AirPods at any time.
Unfortunately,
this
function is no longer possible in connection with an Android device
.
You can remedy this with the “Airbattery” app.
Apple AirPods can usually be controlled with Siri.
However, the
voice assistant only works with Apple devices.
Depending on your needs, you can also install the Google Assistant on the AirPods.
The “Assistant Trigger” app is required for this.
For the pro package, 1.99 euros are due here.
This is certainly the biggest disadvantage when using Apple AirPods with an Android smartphone: If the small headphones are lost,
Apple users can find the AirPods more quickly thanks to the Apple ID
.
Android users are lost here for now.
The “Light Blue Explorer” app is worthwhile here.
With this, all Bluetooth devices can be found within a radius of 30 meters, provided the battery is not empty.
Using the Apple AirPods with an Android smartphone is no problem.
The most important functions are retained and the setup is child's play.
