The Syrian Arab Red Crescent branch in Al-Hasakah distributed the home garden grant to farmers affected by drought conditions in order to help them and provide them with a supportive livelihood.

The head of the Crescent’s branch, Ali Mansour, said in a statement to SANA reporter that the initiative, which is implemented in cooperation with the International Committee of the Red Cross and the Directorate of Agriculture, aims to support families who depend on agriculture for their sources of income and who were affected under drought conditions that affected the crops for this year, as it includes 2,000 families. In the areas of the countryside of Hasaka, Qamishli and Tal Tamr.

The coordinator of the livelihood program in the Crescent branch, Muhammad Al-Harith, indicated that the initiative includes the distribution of a drip irrigation network, a set of summer and winter vegetable seeds, in addition to manual agricultural equipment, provided that the beneficiary has a source of water for irrigation, that the land is suitable for cultivation and production of vegetables, and that the family is not a beneficiary of programs He indicated that the aim of the initiative is to improve the living conditions of needy families.

The organization’s branch had implemented a similar project in the governorate’s countryside during the 2019-2020 season.
