How the ÖDP direct candidate imagines the future

Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen - The ÖDP Bundestag candidate Jan-Philipp van Olfen recently thought about the world of tomorrow, from his party's point of view, as part of a lecture evening in the Wolfratshauser Flößerei.

The 22-year-old Benediktbeurer opened his presentation with current pictures about the massive forest fires in Greece, the refugee crisis in Afghanistan and the fact that the world was already on 29.

To this end, he presented specific proposals and visions for a world of tomorrow: Globally, free trade must be replaced by fair trade. The 22-year-old suggests building multi-generation houses and strengthening families with a parenting salary. In economic terms, he relies on a post-growth and common good economy, "in which the focus is not on profit, but on the good life for everyone". The direct candidate is calling for climate neutrality by 2030, and agriculture must be converted in an animal-friendly and ecological way.

According to the press release, Van Olfen, who studies social work, was able to “show very competently” how the school system must be changed in order to promote the creativity of young people.

Finally, he postulated the strengthening of democracy through citizens' councils and referendums at the federal level and called on all those present to become politically active themselves.

ÖDP district leader Olaf Fries was impressed by van Olfen's appearance and thanked him “for the beautiful evening”.

If the young generation, ”says Fries,“ does not bury its head in the sand before the current problems, but has a vision, this is very motivating for everyone ”.
