Reuters quoted state police as saying that a 60-year-old man was killed after a tree fell on his home near the city of Baton Rouge, while the flood waters caused by the cyclone inundated large areas.
And US President Joe Biden announced a major disaster in Louisiana after Hurricane Ida reached the shore of the state, which is suffering from an outbreak of the Corona virus and strained the health care system.
