Finance Minister Avigdor Lieberman said today (Monday) at a press conference on the budget. To ministers from the left-wing parties in the government that he is about to insist on the 3 major reforms introduced in the Arrangements Act, despite their opposition.

The issues Lieberman insists on are agriculture reform, regulatory reform and raising the retirement age for women to 65, gradually over the next 11 years.

According to him, this is the "most social budget in the history of the State of Israel."

Lieberman reiterated that he sees the Budget Law and the Arrangements Law as one piece.

On the possibility that the budget law will be approved and the arrangements law he did not say "it's just a flower crow".

Lieberman explained that in fact the Arrangements Law is one of the sources of funding for the Budget Law.

"There is nothing more right and just than the budget that will be on the Knesset table tomorrow," he said, expressing confidence that he would be approved in the Knesset.

He said the budget includes no less than 27 structural changes and 15 new laws relating to the budget.

The total proposed budget is NIS 432 billion for the current year and NIS 452 billion for 2022.

These amounts were derived, among other things, from a higher inflation forecast than it is today, in contrast to previous budgets built according to current inflation - this change led to the possibility of increasing the budget by several billion shekels.

Lieberman expressed optimism about continued growth in the economy and said that the reports of the companies and the activity of consumers in credit cards show the recovery trend in the economy "The Israeli economy has learned to live and work alongside the corona," he said.

Regarding housing, Lieberman said at the press conference that after the holidays a new comprehensive plan will be published. "A quarter of the cost of living comes from housing," he said. Lieberman gave many examples of an increase in the civilian budget, such as an increase of NIS 2 billion for health and NIS 700 million for welfare. After detailing the increase in the civilian budget, he referred to his conclusion on the defense minister who led to the institutionalization of the chief of staff's supplement to the pensions of permanent servants. They have this lollipop and not in another field. "

On the retirement age reform for women, he said that "it is difficult to define who works in an abrasive job," but added that adjustments can be made to the reform "while on the move."

Regarding the reform of agriculture, Lieberman pointed the finger of blame at the MKs, who said that without them it would have been possible to reach agreements with the farmers on it. Lieberman said that the agricultural councils are from the Mapai period and have no place today: "

However, he also sent a clear message to the food chains when he said that "they are controlled by 3 large chains: Shufersal, Victory and Rami Levy."

Lieberman demonstrated a lack of knowledge in the field, since the Yochananoff chain, for example, is three times larger than the Victory chain.

Lieberman added that "these are public companies whose reports can be seen - they have doubled their profits in Corona.

Therefore, it is necessary to check the entire chain here. "Needless to say, although some of the chains increased their profits by tens of percent, none of them doubled its profits.

Finally, Lieberman also referred to Defense Minister Bnei Gantz's meeting with PA chairman Abu Mazen and said that "we are doing everything we can to maintain the PA's economic stability."
