Reservists Protest: Several Warriors Announce Retirement Israel today

2021-08-30T18:59:51.261Z

The fighters, reservists from a battalion of battalions, announced that they would retire in protest of the opening fire regulations which they said prevented them from taking action against the enemy • In a post posted on Facebook, one of the fighters writes:

A number of reservists from the Fighting Battalion announced that they would retire in protest of the opening fire regulations in Judea and Samaria and Gaza, in light of the death of Bar-El Hadaria Shmueli, who was wounded a week and a half ago by Hamas terrorists. Who do not feel that they are allowed to act against the enemy fully and that they feel they are tying their hands.

The incident began last week, when a battalion fighter named Dover Moore posted a Facebook post in which he was furious at the instructions to open fire and even clarified that he would refuse an order if required to not shoot in an incident similar to the one that took place on the Gaza border.

"I do not need a cruel army against its soldiers," he wrote in a post that garnered hundreds of likes and shares.

"If an order like the one given to them on the Gaza border, not to shoot, was given to me, I would refuse an order. Proudly! So why do we need it if in any case there is no permission to harm the enemy? I will not go there if I see that this is the trend. "It's all a small screw. But this is my modest protest," the post said.

The post caused a stir on the Internet, following which the company commander sent a letter in which he condemned Moore's remarks.

However, the lieutenant colonel's letter provoked more anger in the company, and a number of fighters officially announced that they did not intend to reach the reserve. In a screenshot from the company's WhatsApp group distributed on the network, the fighters wrote:

In the end we are thrown out.

"And when I hear how they chose to deal with your post in the battalion, I will be ashamed," wrote one.

Three others made it clear that they were also retiring: "I retired today," one reporter and another added: "Every word in the rock, I will no longer go to reserve service."

In another company in the battalion, too, there are broad voices regarding a desire to retire from reserve service as an act of protest.

"The goal is not to provoke provocation," Moore clarified in a conversation with Israel Today.

"The thing is, the opening fire regulations are not just relevant to us - but we're the only ones who can talk. The regulars can't talk and we feel we're the only ones who can fight for them.

None of them will get up and do anything, except maybe something spot on.

We can change reality, like fire in a field of thorns, make it clear that Khalas - we need to change our thinking upwards.

One small crack on our part could possibly affect the entire structure. "

The IDF did not respond until the news was published, and it will be published when it is received.
