The VHS Schongau starts the fall semester a little earlier than usual.
Exciting lectures are on the program, the Lech is playing a role again, unusual offers are being made up for.

- "Almost every day there is new information about Corona from the Bavarian Adult Education Association." This is what Ursula Diesch, the head of the Schongau VHS, reports. All face-to-face courses can be started. Schongau had already prepared for this last year and redesigned the course rooms accordingly - lots of space, enough space between the tables. "We have added the tower hall in the coin building and the council chamber in the Ballenhaus," said Diesch. So no problem with a mask.
The 3G regulation only applies to exercise courses from an incidence of 35 - to protect all course participants.
Yoga, back training, Pilates, Kantaera and Zumba are back in the program.
The 50plus yoga course with Bettina Baumann is new.
Another new addition: the movement pedagogue Regina Skerlec.
Participants can experience an interesting afternoon in the fresh air at the golf taster course.

The VHS Schongau can look back on 75 years of educational work.
In the fall semester, the two people who came up with ideas, Sigfrid Hofmann and the then district administrator and later Prime Minister Franz Josef Strauss, who laid the foundations for the opening of an adult education center in 1946, are remembered.
Jürgen Erhard could be won for a lecture. The new district home nurse has dealt with the concept of the Middle Ages and is giving a lecture on the subject of “It's all just a gimmick? - Representations of the Middle Ages in leisure activities and the entertainment industry with a special view of the "Schongauer Pavese". Mathias Haunstetter is also the new course instructor at the VHS. The area supervisor of the Lechtal Habitat Association invites you to hike to the wild river relict Litzau Loop and tells you interesting facts about the last free stretch of river in the Bavarian Lech. If you are looking for more information about the Lech, the lectures by Werner Schmitt are inexhaustible sources. The Schongauer also devotes himself to other topics, such as medieval music. The Lech also plays a major role in Helmut Schmidbauer's lecture.“The trade route to Italy and the Rottflößerei” sheds light on Schongau with its transport connections to Italy and with the history of the Rott am Fluss. Last but not least, the Lech ranger Patrizia Majowski is out again with interested parties.
VHS Schongau: courses on sustainability should be made up for
Ursula Diesch hopes that the courses on the semester topic of sustainability that were canceled in the spring can now be made up for. Yvonne Ley will give a lecture on "Sustainability - Fashion - a contradiction?" On a tour of the city, Johanne Hentschke shows how one can consume in an environmentally conscious way in Schongau and where there are ecological alternatives. In a joint workshop with Andrea Engelien, 17 sustainability goals are presented. Claudia Knopp, waste advisor in the district, is also a guest at the VHS Schongau and gives tips on how to avoid plastic waste. The new livestreams from the Bavarian Consumer Center on the subject of photovoltaics and heating renewal fit this topic. Last but not least, there are offers for those with a sweet tooth with pastry chef Violeta Kristen. And who wants to be enchanted,is in good hands with the storytellers.
In order to be able to hold as many courses as possible, the start is a little earlier this year: The first class in attendance will be held on September 11th, the live streams have already started.
Even if the face-to-face courses, for example in the languages, are more popular with the participants, there is the possibility of continuing some courses as online offerings if necessary, says Diesch.
