The Mexican tax authorities accuse the celebrity of Peruvian origin of having sold a house that was foreclosed, a penalty that merits up to 9 years in prison. Although his arrest warrant has been provisionally suspended.

Television presenter Laura Bozzo has become a target of Mexican justice.

Accused of an alleged tax crime of more than 650,000 dollars (13 million pesos), the authorities issued an arrest warrant against her last week.

Last week, the Attorney General's Office (FGR) requested a red card from Interpol to search for it and detain it in any country for the crime of tax evasion.

However, the famous driver of Peruvian origin living in Mexico cannot be detained for now, as a district judge granted her

a provisional suspension of the arrest warrant

this Tuesday, as reported by Mexican media.

The protection will be effective as soon as Bozzo pays a guarantee of 300,000 pesos, with a maximum term of five business days.

At the moment, it is unknown if the amount has already been paid.

On Wednesday, August 11, a control judge from the State of Mexico ordered Bozzo to turn himself in to the authorities of the Santiaguito prison, in Almoloya de Juárez.

He had been sentenced to preventive detention for an alleged tax offense.

The presenter had to voluntarily enter the prison in the State of Mexico.

However, after the 48-hour deadline that had been set for him, Bozzo did not go to jail.

Months ago, it was reported that the driver, based in Mexico for years, had requested a reparatory agreement to pay the tax debt and thus avoid the prison sentence.

Bozzo has assured that it is "very gross for taxes"

and that the legal problem had been caused by the mismanagement of its accountants.

He has not been seen in public since he was imprisoned and it is unknown where he is.

The host became famous in Mexico thanks to her program 'Laura en América' (1998-2008), recorded in her native Peru, in which a family court was simulated where cases of violence, adultery and addictions were treated.

The program was criticized on several occasions for ridiculing, violence and insults towards the participants.
