The Palestinian Prisoners and Ex-Prisoners Affairs Authority warned of the deteriorating health condition
of the hunger-striking prisoner, Alaa Al-Araj, calling on the international community to pressure
the occupation to release him.
The authority said in a statement today, carried by Wafa Agency, that the lame-detainee, who
has been on
strike for 23 days, lost 30 kilograms of weight and suffers from general weakness in his body
and is unable to stand, and he urgently needs to be transferred to the hospital.
Six Palestinian prisoners are continuing their hunger strike in protest of the occupation's crimes against the prisoners. They are Kayed al-Fosfus for 47 days, Miqdad al-Qawasmi for 40 days, Ahmed Hamamra for 31 days, Hisham Abu Hawash for 14 days, Rayek Bisharat for 9 days and Alaa al-Araj.
