The adult education centers (Vhs) are also starting again after the summer holidays.
The program for the autumn semester is ready, even if the corona pandemic has brought some changes with it.
Geretsried / Wolfratshausen - In the meantime, the focus is no longer just on further developing the program, but also on implementing it in accordance with the pandemic, says Thomas Loibl, press spokesman for the city of Geretsried. Face-to-face events or online offerings, limited numbers of participants due to limited room sizes or the development of hygiene concepts for various offers: All of these are topics and questions that have to be dealt with - always taking into account the currently applicable official requirements. "We're trying to be as flexible as possible here," announced the press spokesman. The head of the Wolfratshauser Vhs, Christine Hohnheiser, agrees: "And we hope for practicable solutions through the vaccination."
Last autumn, the Vhs Wolfratshausen waived a printed program because of the pandemic. This year the city had 34,000 copies made. According to Hohnheiser, they will be distributed to all households in Loisachstadt as well as in neighboring municipalities. In Geretsried, too, there is a booklet in every mailbox. With 260, 270 courses you have almost a normal program again, reports the Vhs director. “We set up a lot of Switch courses,” she says. If it becomes necessary and the participants agree, the courses could also be held online, explains the Wolfratshauser.
In Geretsried, the autumn program comprises a total of 226 courses, including 44 individual events and 35 online courses. "The occupancy plan for the new intermunicipal indoor swimming pool is currently being finalized," reports Loibl. "Once the exact time slot has been determined, the offer will be supplemented by a further eleven aquafit water aerobics and children's swimming courses."
As far as the online courses are concerned, valuable experience has been gained over the past few months. "We have found that the age of the course participants actually does play a role here." According to Loibl, younger participants often accept these offers well. With older participants, a certain distance can be felt here and there with increasing age. “Of course, this does not apply across the board, but you can definitely determine it with one or the other offer.” In addition, the course topic also plays a decisive role. Language courses online would work fine most of the time. "Some participants find it a little more difficult with sports courses," reports the town hall spokesman. There is no direct feedback from the trainer. Praise, criticism and motivation."These things are best still accepted face-to-face by many."
In the neighboring town, some similar, but also different experiences have been made.
Exercise courses over the Internet are "very well received", says Hohnheiser.
The course instructors would even remotely correct the participants.
The head of the Vhs concluded: "Even if it works, it can only be a bridge."
