The Schleissheim municipal council actually didn't want to buy air filters for schools and daycare centers.

The SPD is now resisting this decision with a signature campaign.

Oberschleißheim

- Against the decision of the Oberschleißheim community not to equip schools and daycare centers with air purifiers, the SPD is campaigning for signatures.

You social democrats want to mobilize parents and grandparents.

With ventilation and masks alone, SPD local deputy Ralf Bönnemann does not believe that the fourth wave is coming: "Anyone who understands even a little about exponential growth is aware of the current infection situation that we are facing another hard winter." Bönnemann infected himself with the virus last November.

Since then he has been suffering from "Long Covid".

The deputy chairman therefore makes the protection of schools and day-care centers an issue for his body and stomach.

"How it works, Neubiberg drills us."

The Social Democrats hold against a majority of the CSU, the Greens, the FDP and parts of the FW that they voted against mobile air filters primarily for reasons of cost. The protection of children must "have the highest priority", thinks SPD chairman Maximilian Weiß and refers to the state government's funding program, according to which mobile air purifiers are subsidized half. The fact that Casimir Katz (FDP) came to the conclusion in his study that Corona can be controlled most effectively through shock ventilation and AHA rules has played the community right in the leaf. The SPD does not share this view. When the market is flooded with corona studies, it is easy to cement your desired result with an expert opinion, says Bönnemann, who even knows of studies that identify protective masks as a danger.

The SPD believes that schools and daycare centers in Oberschleißheim are most likely to be protected by a number of measures.

"How it works, Neubiberg drills us." According to Bönnemann, a combination of mobile air purifiers, Plexiglas separating discs, face masks, spacing and ventilation ensures classroom teaching at the schools in the community.

"We regret the decision of the municipal council"

In the last meeting before the summer break, Mayor Markus Böck (CSU) forbade himself to equate the vote against air filters with endangering the well-being of the child.

As long as the usefulness of mobile devices has not been proven, Böck turns against "alibi measures that do not help".

Equipping all classrooms with air filters by the start of the school year would be an illusion anyway due to the high demand.

The SPD announced that it would provide information about its concerns at public events such as market days.

"We regret the decision of the municipal council," said Bönnemann.

He considers it unbearable that people in Oberschleißheim want to do without the protection of mobile air purifiers.

Students would be forced to endure another winter in the classroom with a scarf and coat - if lessons without an air filter were even possible.
