Manchester United reconfirmed Cristiano Ronaldo's two-year contract with the club on Tuesday.
In addition, the "red devils" mentioned the option to an extra year, if the conditions were met.
The club's statement also cited one of its greatest figures of all time and his desire to return as soon as possible to play with his fans.
"'Manchester United is a club that has always held a special place in my heart and I have been overwhelmed by all the messages I have received since Friday's announcement. Manchester's statement on Cristiano Ronaldo
"Manchester United is pleased to confirm the signing of Cristiano Ronaldo on a two-year contract with the option of an extension for one more year, subject to international authorization," said the statement from the British entity.
