The end of the summer vacation is synonymous with a return to work for a large part of French households.

However, they will have to put up with the many changes that will upset the start of the school year.

While employees will be able to take advantage of an extension of the doubling of meal voucher ceilings, they will have to deal with the reduction in partial unemployment benefit for protected sectors and the increase in gas prices.

Changes are also expected on the telework front.

Increase in gas prices of an "

unprecedented scale

Gas prices continue to climb on September 1, 2021. After an increase of 5.3% on August 1, which was already added to a 10% increase on July 1, regulated prices will thus reach an 8.7% increase. in September.

This increase is 2.7% for customers who use gas for cooking, 5.5% for those who have dual use, cooking and hot water, and 9.0% for homes that heat themselves. gas

", the rise in prices on the Asian market and a low level of storage in Europe are invoked.

Since January 1, 2019, regulated prices have increased by 15.8%.

The 2020 meal vouchers expire

As of September 1, unused meal vouchers dating from 2020 will no longer be valid.

For 2021 tickets, the measure of doubling the daily ceilings is however extended beyond August 31, the date initially scheduled for the expiry of the device.

It will therefore still be possible to spend up to 38 euros in restaurants until February 28, 2022. This amount had increased from 19 to 38 euros in June 2020 in order to support restaurateurs who had suffered from the first confinement.

The authorization to use them on weekends and public holidays is also extended until the same date.

Decrease in partial unemployment benefit for protected sectors

Part-time workers in the sectors of activity most affected by the health crisis (tourism, catering, sport, culture, events, etc.) will see their compensation drop to 72% of their net remuneration - against 84% previously - from of September 1, 2021. They will thus join employees in other less affected sectors, for whom the allowance had been reduced to this rate as of July 1, 2021.

For its part, the State will participate in the partial unemployment benefit only up to 36% of the initial salary, against 60% in July and 50% in August for these protected sectors.

Employees of administratively closed companies will continue to receive 70% of their gross remuneration until October 31, 2021 with 100% state support.

Teleworking: compensation for public officials and negotiations in companies

Several novelties are to be expected in terms of teleworking.

As of September 1, public officials will be eligible for a teleworking allowance, the payment of which will be made from the first quarter of 2022. Teleworking days carried out from September 2021 may thus entitle them to a compensation of 2 , 5 € per day, within the limit of 220 euros.

On the business side, negotiations should accelerate at the start of the school year.

A new allowance, labeled Pass'Sport, is available to finance registration in a sports club from September 2021 to June 2022. In the amount of 50 euros, it concerns children between 6 and 17 years old who will be 5.4 million to be able to benefit from it, according to the Ministry of Sports.

Eligible families must have received a letter from the Ministry during the summer, informing them that they are receiving assistance.

This must then be presented to sports clubs during registration, before October 31.

The money will then be paid directly by the state to the sports club.

It should be noted that only families already benefiting from the back-to-school allowance or allowances for children or adults with disabilities will be able to benefit from it.

Health pass for employees

The entry into force of the health pass in the professional environment from August 30 will concern employees of establishments open to the public (bars, restaurants, nightclubs, cinemas, sports establishments, etc.).

They will indeed have to present a vaccination certificate, a negative test of less than 72 hours or a certificate of recovery from the Covid dating more than 11 days and less than 6 months to go to work.

The controls at the entrance to the places concerned must be carried out by those in charge and the mask will no longer be compulsory for personnel subject to the pass.
