Mexican offensive lineman Isaac Alarcón will return to the Dallas Cowboys' practice squad for the second year in a row
, the Dallas Morning News reported.
Although Alarcón, who played in the 2021 preseason as a left guard,
will not be included in the roster of 53 active players
, he can return to the practice squad as part of the NFL International Program.
Alarcon played in all four preseason games with the Cowboys, with two solid performances, against Pittsburgh and Texans
, before being named captain in Sunday's game against the Jaguars.
“I love this team. My goal was never to be in the NFL
, ”Isaac said late in the game against Jacksonville.
“This is a blessing for me.
I thank God every day for the opportunity that I have ”.
The Mexican has been one of the leading players in the "Hard Knocks" series, which this year he followed the Cowboys during training camp and preseason.
The
HBO
show
has shown Alarcón's ups and downs during practices,
particularly in passing situations, in which at times he has been confused with his assignments.
"My coaches and teammates told me that I have improved a lot since last season,
" Isaac said.
“Right now that I can play preseason games, I thank God I didn't play last season.
He didn't have the mental (look), to be honest.
I think I am improving in my knowledge.
It has been really good ”.
The Alarcón family attended the last two preseason games.
