The tragedy in the Negev fields:

"A talented student destined for greatness," testified today (Tuesday) the deputy director of the Ohel Moshe Torah Talmud, Yigal Peretz, who spoke with "Israel Today" following the horrific death of five-year-old Meir Israel Eshosh.

He told about the student from the Talmud Torah and the difficult tragedy that befell the father, his friend and his colleague, just before the start of the school year and Rosh Hashanah.

"A really hard day and a very hard cut. This is one of the most important, and most valued teachers."

Peretz told the father in pain.

The deputy principal stressed that it was important to "inspect the vehicle, not to forget, not to forget. I never believed it would come so close to me, a child from Talmud Torah."

Peretz described "a very talented student. He was really destined for greatness. And yesterday the first grade teacher told me - 'He doesn't have much to do in first grade, because he already knows how to read and write and has a very high level of reading comprehension'.

"It can happen to anyone. Pay attention, the pressure, getting out of the car, go back and check leisurely, make a turn around the car. I think that is what could have saved lives. Check the vehicle, put on signs and applications, take off one shoe and put it in the back, "Peretz explains.

"It repeats itself. We must take responsibility and check."

Meir Israel Eshush was five and eight months old at the time of his death.

He is one of six brothers, the grandson of the local rabbi Zimrat and the nephew of MK Shlomo Qara from the Likud.

Earlier, Bar-Yohai Dahbash, commander of ZAK Netivot who handled the scene, told of the tragic incident.

Towards 13:00 the father searched for his son to bring him home and found that he had not come to school at all.

When he checked the car, he found his son inside lifeless.

Civilians at the scene began resuscitation operations. Unfortunately, an MDA paramedic was forced to confirm his death at the scene.

"ZKA volunteers from the Netivot team took care of the dead in the difficult arena and help the family with everything they need."

Meanwhile, police have launched an investigation into the circumstances of the incident.
