Update from August 30, 7:01 p.m.:

The DWD continues to warn of continuous rain in southern Bavaria.

At the moment there is also a warning of “strong thunderstorms” in the state capital.

In addition, there is an official storm warning of “heavy heavy rain”.

Precipitation amounts "between 25 l / m² and 40 l / m² per hour" occur.

Because of the heavy rain, the levels of the rivers in Bavaria are also rising.

The flood intelligence service has issued warnings for numerous circles.

In two districts, the highest reporting level applies.

The level of the Isar is also rising steadily.

Update from August 30th, 3:11 pm:

In the south of Bavaria, an official storm warning from the DWD applies to "heavy continuous rain".

The entire edge of the Alps is now affected by the warning.

Munich is no longer in the red, however.

However, there is still a warning of continuous rain.

The storms have already led to floods in Upper Bavaria.

Even a motorway had to be partially closed.

According to the DWD's weather map, thunderstorms are currently occurring in parts of the districts of Passau and Freyung-Grafenau.

The weather service warns of heavy rain and lightning strikes in the affected region.

Since Monday morning, the DWD has been warning of heavy continuous rain in several Bavarian districts and cities (see previous update).

The regions affected are colored red on the warning map.

But even where there is no official storm warning of heavy continuous rain, it gets uncomfortable.

There are warnings about heavy rain in several regions.

11:01 a.m.: Red alert has been in effect for numerous districts in Bavaria since the morning. The DWD warns in Rosenheim, Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen, Miesbach, Munich, Ebersberg, Traunstein, Altötting and the Berchtesgadener Land until Tuesday (9 p.m.) ) before heavy continuous rain (see first report).

Now other regions have been added.

The official storm warning also applies in the districts of Lindau, Oberallgäu and Ostallgäu (until Tuesday, 6 p.m.).

Weather in Bavaria: DWD warns of heavy continuous rain

The DWD reports: “

After previously observed amounts of precipitation of 35 to 60 l / m², heavy continuous rain of varying intensity continues to occur.

Precipitation amounts between 35 l / m² and 60 l / m² are expected again

. ”The warning is valid until Tuesday, 9 pm.

For large parts of Bavaria there is an official warning of heavy continuous rain (until Monday, 6 p.m.).

This affects the districts of Landshut, Passau and Oberallgäu, among others.

In some regions, including Freising, warnings are also issued against heavy rain.

The warning is valid until 9 a.m. on Monday.
