In the Italian city of Satriano, in the province of Calabria, a 20-year-old girl named
Simona Cavallaro
died after failing to overcome the serious injuries left by the brutal attack by
12 stray dogs.
Apparently, the young student was on a picnic with her boyfriend and other friends of the couple.
When they finished enjoying their food
, the couple decided to separate from the group and walk through a wooded area of the city.
Right at that moment, the two young men were surprised by a pack of dogs that started attacking them.
The animals tended the cattle
in nearby places and for unknown reasons, attacked the couple.
During the attack of the animals, the groom managed to escape and flee the place.
However,
Simona Cavallaro
did not have the same luck and suffered bites and attacks from dogs.
The dogs tended the cattle and for some reason attacked the couple.
Once safe, the young woman's boyfriend managed to take refuge in a cabin that was abandoned in the forest.
It was then that he called the Police and the Emergency services alerting him of what had happened.
When the agents and medical professionals showed up, they transferred Simona Cavallaro to the hospital in a very serious condition.
However, once in the medical center, the young student died when she did not overcome the injuries caused by the brutal attack by the animals.
The girl was probably trying to escape and also tried to defend herself: dog hair was found under her nails.
Now it will be up to a team of experts to determine which of the 12 captured dogs belongs to the extracted hair.
Among the animals, only one had the microchip implanted that allows the owner to be tracked.
In the last hours, samples of the fur of the animals were taken, some of which had blood on their heads.
The 20-year-old was attacked in the legs and back.
The father of the deceased young woman uploaded a heartbreaking Facebook post: “My dear daughter Simona passed away in this earthly life, my pain is immense as if they had exported half of my body.
Simona, pure as spring water,
sunny as sunrise and sunset, smiling and playful as a child ”.
