(ANSA) - PALERMO, AUGUST 31 - A strong earthquake, of magnitude 4.3, was recorded by the seismographs of the national institute of geophysics and volcanology in the Palermo area at 6.14.
The epicenter was located in the sea, off the coast of Cefalù.
The earthquake was felt by the population especially in the Madonie area, but also in the capital many were awakened by the tremor.
Many calls to the fire brigade.
No damage has been reported so far.
