The Israeli education system is the system in which our future is most invested. The future of the State of Israel, the future of the Jewish people. It is a strong, robust educational system, in which diversity is the source of power, the source of power. As Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin has already said: "We have no gold mines, no oil and no diamonds. Israel is poor in natural resources, but it has enormous human potential. A human mosaic that has gathered here and enriches our national intellectual capacity."

Israel's human mosaic is made up of the vast diversity that characterizes our people - people from different denominations, religions, beliefs and ideological conceptions, who together build a society, and a country of glory.

We do not agree on everything, there are disagreements and there are rifts, but the great space of agreement between us is connected with the love of all parts of the people for this wonderful and unique place, our home, and the desire to march it forward.

The past year has shaken our educational paradigms. Teachers and educational staff have adapted - in motion - to various limitations, outlines, and guidelines, from capsules to distance learning. While maintaining a safe distance they made every effort to see the students, to feel them, to be with them.

In this sense, this year has sharpened in us the need to adapt our children's education not only to an advanced technological reality, but also to a challenging social reality. In the shadow of the Corona crisis, we have once again learned how much the individual needs company and how much we are interdependent. We have learned that "mutual guarantee" is not just a slogan, but an existential order and a basic condition for our life on this land. We have re-learned the need for partnership education.

In the coming school year, we must engrave on our banner education for partnership, caring, listening, mutual respect, bringing hearts together and embracing arms. To lower the walls between us, and to renew the alliance of partnership and "togetherness" between all the sons and daughters of the Jewish and democratic state.

"Wishing you a healthy, value-based, happy and successful school year."

The education and higher education system in Israel has produced generations of outstanding researchers, scientists, and intellectuals, as well as significant citizens who contribute to the community, society, and the state.

I have no doubt that our wonderful teachers, educators and educators of Israel, will take on this challenge, which is so important, at this time.

In my inaugural speech in the Knesset, I quoted the words of our first prime minister, David Ben-Gurion, who said "a homeland cannot be bought with money or conquered by the sword, you must create it with the sweat of your brow," and added "keep it with the sweat of your brow."

Indeed, that is our responsibility.

This is the task of our generation.

This is our mission.

Do everything, everything, to preserve the homeland, and rebuild hope.

Israeli hope.

From the President's House in Jerusalem, I wish us all a healthy, value-based, happy and successful school year.
