Freising

- One of the artists of the second Kickstart funding round is the Ensemble Chiave, whose concert series “Hear My Prayer, O Lord” will take place in several churches in and around Freising from next Saturday (dates at the end of the report). The program unites several centuries and styles with a special focus on sacred music and some secular accents. Admission for visitors is free or on a donation basis. The funding amount is used for GEMA fees, the printing of flyers and posters and the payment of a sound engineer.

The Chiave Ensemble is made up of six young women who are enthusiastic about singing between the ages of 19 and 21, who have come together at a young age through the joy of music. Even before singing together in an ensemble, the singers Cordula Kraetzl, Lisa Seidel, Miriam Fusseder, Elisabeth Fusseder, Franka Weidlich and Felicitas Höfler received strong musical and vocal support from the Freising Cathedral Choir under Wolfgang Kiechle, Angelika Sutor and Matthias Egger.

The ensemble was founded in 2013 and until recently was under the direction of Angelika Sutor.

The ensemble has been able to gain a lot of experience and improve the quality of the voice over the years.

The greatest strength is the precisely coordinated singing, which brings out the character of the vocal ensemble.

Chiave not only stands for clear and homogeneous sound, but also for the individuality of every single voice and personality.

The ensemble won several prizes in the “Jugend Musiziert” competition, including the first federal award in 2017 in the “New Music” category.

Chiave's repertoire includes sacred and secular works, including from the Renaissance, Romantic, Classical, Jazz and New Music.

The “Hear My Prayer, O Lord” concert series focuses on sacred vocal music.

The group performs works by the composers Palestrina, Durufle, Nystedt and Arnesen, among others.

Chiave is particularly looking forward to the piece by ensemble member Elisabeth Fusseder, which won an award in the Bavarian Youth Composition Competition in 2019.
