2021-09-01T14:06:05.594Z

Preparations for a good day and everything that needs to be done in prayers and meals • Who must hear the blowing of the shofar and how to do it? • And is it allowed to use a speaker or zoom during the holiday? • Everything you need to know ahead of Rosh Hashanah

Rosh Hashanah opens a spiritual journey for us.

At the beginning of the journey we aim our heads.

Looking in the right direction, we clearly define the goals we strive for - a world of divine justice and morality, led by the people of Israel.

This is the 'Rosh' of the year.

A day of coordinating intentions toward Torah goals.

Then on Yom Kippur, we check whether we are meeting the goals we set for Rosh Hashanah, and make a mental calculation of how we can fix the problems along the way.

This is Yom Kippur - the day of 'Lev' this year.

A day of sincerity, a day of sincerity.

As a result of this cross between the goals to be performed, between the head and the heart, the joy of Sukkot was born, against the body.

A person is happy when his destiny is clear, and he stands by it.

This is the great happiness, the time of our joy, the confidence in the righteousness of the way.

On the eve of Rosh Hashanah, 29 Elul

Today's customs:

Saying Slichot (begging Slichot, but not in prayer) Allowing vows at the end of the morning prayer, all three people can untie, and preferably ten.

Haircut and shave for doomsday.

Giving charity, 'Charity will save from death'.

Ascension to ancestral tombs and tombs of the righteous.

Some used to dip before the Day of Judgment.

You can shower for 3-4 minutes, instead of the New Year's Eve baptism (but this can not replace the Nada baptism)

First night of Rosh Hashanah

"On Rosh Hashanah he will not wear embroidery and silk clothes like other good days, so that he will be feared by the law" (16). Therefore it is customary to dress in simple and handsome clothes, but not luxurious.

In lighting candles, the blessing is 'to light a candle of a good day'.

Ashkenazi girls bless 'Shachayinu', before lighting, and most girls from the Eastern community do not bless.

We must prepare a fire that will be lit during the holiday, so that we can move from it and use the fire during the two days of Rosh Hashanah, since on a good day it is permissible to cook, by transferring from a lit fire.

In the Maariv prayer, the four additions of the Ten Days of Repentance begin to be added: "We remembered for life," "Who is like you, Father of mercy," "And it is written for a good life," "In the book of life."

Change the blessing of the 'Holy God' to the blessing of the 'Holy King'.

On weekdays, the blessing of justice is changed to "the king of justice."

If he forgets the 'Holy King' and does not remember immediately (or even remembers immediately, but began the next blessing), returns to the beginning of the eighteenth.

If you forget 'The King of Justice' does not return.

If he forgets the other additions he does not return.

In Kaddish some say 'above all' instead of 'above', and 'makes peace' instead of 'makes peace'.

And there are other customs in the additions of the Kaddish, each community as a custom.

After the prayer, we greet each other for a happy new year, write and sign.

Rabbi Kook's custom was to say on Rosh Hashanah 'a blessed holiday', and not a 'happy holiday', due to the horror of the law, which is said to be 'and discovered with trembling'.

However, the commandment of joy itself exists on the holiday, and is expressed in foods and melodies.

Especially be careful not to get angry on this day, and it is good to increase love and affection for his family and community.

Kiddush - Seder YKZ - wine, kiddush, time.

As written in cycles.

At the meal, the special signs for Rosh Hashanah are eaten, each according to his family's custom.

They used to avoid eating sour foods and nuts.

Those who eat the signs within the meal will not bless the cooked vegetables 'Creator of the fruit of the earth' (since the blessing of the one who brings forth Petra from this blessing), but will bless the date with the blessing of the 'Creator of the fruit of the tree'.

Whoever eats the marks before washing hands, will bless both the fruit and the vegetable.

They say 'rise and come' in the blessing of food.

It is good to engage in the mishnayot of Rosh Hashanah Tractate at night.

Sunday of Rosh Hashana, A. Tishrei

Yom Tov prayer.

The number of worshipers allowed in synagogues and open spaces as instructed by the Ministry of Health must be observed, and masks must be worn accordingly.

This is a halakhic duty and not just a legal one.

Do not use a speaker of various types, to increase the sound of the shofar, or for prayers in the synagogue.

It is forbidden to broadcast prayers and watch them through the 'Zoom' app, etc., during the holiday.

It is forbidden to say 'confession' on Rosh Hashanah, and it is forbidden to bring oneself to tears, but it is permissible and good to meditate on repentance.

The main intention of the Rosh Hashanah prayer is not about our personal lives, but about the future of the nation, and the future of humanity.

This is how the prayers are written, and this is what the various piyyutim were written about.

From the national and universal perspective, we look at our private role in the fabric of life and the work of Gd.

Rosh Hashanah prayers are not short, and in this year that we are dealing with the corona virus, there is a need to consider the minyanim that take place outdoors in the sun, and in public sorrow.

Because of this, the Gabayim, in consultation with the rabbi of the community, are allowed to skip some of the piyyutim if there is a great hour of distress with no choice, due to the scorching sun.

The repetition of the Shatz should not be skipped, as well as the obligatory parts of the prayers.

It is permissible to open on a good day the large parasol fixed in the courtyard in order to shade the worshipers (the compiler to open before Shabbat Tapach, a blessing will come upon it).

Blasts:

After the Haftarah they say 'to the conductor' seven times, and blow 30 blows while standing, they are 'blows from the seat' so called because if he sat during these blasts, he came out.

In the Mussaf prayer, 30 blasts are fired in the repetition of the Shatz: 10 for the kingdoms, 10 for the memorials and 10 for the shofars.

Blowing after 'Kaddish will be accepted', and some blowing more blows before 'we must praise', and blowing after.

Total - 100-101 blasts.

There are other customs, when and how much to blow the shofar in the prayer order.

Each community continues as a custom of course.

In most opinions, fractures should last at least two seconds, and cheering two seconds.

The blast should last as long as what is inside.

If it is a blast -fracture-blast, then the blast should last two seconds, like the time of the fractures.

If it is a blast-fracture-blast-blast, then the length of the blast will be four seconds, as the length of the fracture-blast.

And on that way.

Next to the stabber is a 'trustee', whose job it is to read the order of the blasts to the stabber, and also to check that his blasts are kosher.

The trustee must learn in advance the laws of blowing the shofar and its errors, similar to the blower.

During the blasts one must not speak but hear the voice, meditate on the kingdom of the Creator and repent of our sins.

The shofar calls for war, the war of man in the evil inherent in him, a war to the point of devotion of soul as the binding of Isaac.

The shofar announces the kingdom of Gd and the trend of good in reality.

Small children should be supervised and care should be taken to keep quiet in prayer and especially in blasts.

The laws of blowing the shofar require skill, knowledge and intention.

The owner of the blower must prepare himself properly on the eve of the holiday so that he can blow the shofar in a kosher and correct manner.

He who hears the sound of a shofar and intends to go out by duty, and whoever plows a direction to take out, goes out by duty.

Even if he did not stand inside the synagogue.

In the courtyard quarry when there is pressure, it is also possible to get stuck in the parking lot under the building, and those who hear the sound well from the balcony, are obligated.

Women do not have to hear the sound of the shofar, but many used to hear it.

A patient, one who is in isolation, and one who is in a state of distress, unable to hear the whole order of the blasts properly, will hear the thirty main blasts, and that is enough.

In a regular synagogue, the shofar will be stuck as usual without a cover, and will stand a bit away from the public due to the spray drops coming out of the shofar and the fear of the corona virus.

Anyone who blows the shofar in a sensitive place, such as in a high-risk environment, the elderly, etc., may wear a regular thin mask on the top opening of the shofar, the opening from which the sound comes out, and before blowing it make sure the sound of the shofar sounds the same as without it.

"It is customary not to sleep on Rosh Hashanah until after midnight, and the idler is considered asleep" (Rama and Bahat)

After the mincha prayer, say 'throw away' near a water mikveh or a spring.

And some of the Ashkenazis used to say no.

Monday of Rosh Hashana, Monday Tishrei

Begin preparing for the second holiday after about fourteen minutes of sunset.

As mentioned, it is permissible to cook on a good day by transferring from a lit fire.

Lighting candles at the rising of the stars (passing from an existing fire), on the eve of a second holiday, at home doing a kiddush and eating (some people eat the signs again as on the first day).

In lighting the candles and in Kiddush it is good to have a new vessel or a new fruit, to also mean it with the blessing 'Shachayinu' of the second day.

Moderator of UT. What good is it to finish a book of Psalms during the holidays.

Due to the expected heat, we will mention that it is allowed to shower in hot water on a good day.

Ma'ariv on the evening of Yom Tov - with the special additions of the Ten Days of Repentance.

Holiday evenings - a blessing of havdalah, and a blessing of wine only.

"Every man should seek and search out his deeds and return from them in ten days of repentance. And an offender needs more repentance than a certain transgression, for more repentance when he knows he did, than we do not know he did.

Yahr that thanks to our prayer and answer we will remember the name in good memory before him
