Honoring and crowning the winning teams at the conclusion of the World Robot Olympiad National Championship

Damascus, SANA- The administration of the Syrian Scientific Olympiad in the Excellence and Creativity Commission honored the winning teams in the national championship

The Syrian Scientific Olympiad Department in the Excellence and Creativity Authority honored the winning teams in the 2021 World Robot Olympiad National Championship, in which 59 teams from robotic clubs participated in various governorates, and concluded this evening at the Ebla Hotel and Conference Palace in Damascus.

In the regular competition “Primary category” the “Ota” team from the “Sira Robo” club, Damascus branch, won first place and includes: Tariq Hamdoun, Abdullah Zureik and Omar Jadini. In the second place, the “Rangers” team from the Syrian Society for Informatics, Homs branch, and includes: Fawaz Junaid, Tim Hamdan and Yemen Al-Trashi, while the “Hobby Kids” team from the Syrian Scientific Society for Informatics, Latakia branch, won third place, and it includes: Al-Hussein Abdel-Latif, Muhammad Sheikh Ibrahim and Tim Nader Khair Bek.

In the regular competition “intermediate category” the “Techno Tenes NCD” team from the National Center for Distinguished Students won the first place and includes: Karam Bobo and Yazan Ali, and the “Phoenix” team from the “Sera Robo” club from the Damascus branch won the second place and includes both Among the students: Reda Al-Kassem, Nazih Kulthum and Al-Qasim Yaghi, while the “Open Minds” team from the “Open Minds Center” club won the third place, and it includes both students: Adnan Foiti and Akil Al-Sheikh.

In the regular competition “higher category” the “Eco Dynamo” team from the Syrian Scientific Society for Informatics, Damascus branch, won first place, and includes: Walid Shaibani, Karim Al-Madhi and Sami Maarouf, and the “Frix” team from the Higher Institute of Applied Sciences and Technology, comprising of: Students: Aram Hussain Muhammad, Aghid Ismail Qashkash and Nawar Salim Qutaish. The third place was won by the “RB74 NCD” team from the National Center for Excellence. The students include: Bashar Muhanna, Imran Ali and Maher Kara Falah.

In the open competition, the Teslers team from the Sierra Robo Club of Damascus branch won first place and includes: Mahmoud Al-Hamda, Celine Abu Zarar and Anton Farah Abu Daoud. Both: Madi Hossam Salem and Malik Al Saati, while the “Champions Soa Montessori” team from Genius Club won the third place, and it includes: Hadi Ali, Wissam Mahmoud and Karim Moataz Al-Dawhji.

In the “Engineers of the Future” competition, the “Saturn NCD” team from the National Center for Excellence, including students: Ibrahim Mualla, Raneem Hassan and Jaafar Mia, won first place, and the “Iron Sol” team from Robocon Heist, which includes: Mutasim Al-Bassar and Zain, won the second place. Nasser and Mayar Jaafar, while the “Limitless” team from Al-Manara University won the third place, and the students: Youssef Mahfoud, Ali Deeb and Ali Ali.

The Department of the Syrian Scientific Olympiad in the Excellence and Creativity Authority presented three awards to three distinguished teams that participated in the tournament, which is the Challenge Team Award for the “SCS Dam We Can” team from the Syrian Society for Informatics, Damascus Branch, which includes students: Hadi Ali, Habi Sahloul, and Laith Al-Zoubi, and the Powerpuff Girls Award The SCSS We-Hope team from the Syrian Society for Informatics, As-Suwayda branch, includes the students: Nour Khoury, Ayatollah Mohsen and Wiam Bahsas.

A prize was also given to the youngest team in the tournament at the age of 8 years for the “GCA Galaxy” team from the “Sira Robo” Club, Homs branch, and it includes the students: Jawad Jihad Kharfan, Catherine Rabahih and Abdul Hamid Al-Zarir.

In a speech during the closing ceremony, Engineer Hala Dakkak, Chairperson of the Excellence and Creativity Authority, stressed the importance of the results achieved by the teams participating in the tournament, which brought together programming sciences, engineering, mathematics, mechanics and art, while Dr. Muhib Al-Naqari, head of the Scientific Committee for Robotics at the Authority, pointed out that

The teams participating in the tournament were wonderful and distinguished and showed a remarkable challenge confirming the spread of robotic culture among Syrian youth.

Naboug Yassin, director of the Syrian Scientific Olympiad, expressed her hope that the Syrian teams will achieve advanced positions in the finals of the World Robot Olympiad, which will be held "remotely" during the month of next November.

In interviews with SANA, a number of the winning teams expressed their pride in the results they obtained, and stressed the importance of the tournament and its role in discovering and demonstrating their capabilities, developing their talents and providing them with more information in the technical field, noting the support, supervision and follow-up they received from the organizers of the competition. They also wished to achieve outstanding achievements during their participation in the competition. Global competition.

The competition was officially launched yesterday with the aim of assisting university and school students and those interested in science and technology to highlight their energies and capabilities in the field of designing and programming robots that compete with each other and providing a suitable environment for exchanging experiences in the field of robot education, which contributes to spreading the culture of robot science and helping to develop and enhance basic scientific educational skills.
