According to sources, Southern Command forces on the ground have not internalized that the slot has lost its effectiveness as soon as the crowd reached the wall.

According to the same sources, "the sniper as it sees The reality is narrow because the wall limits it.

The investigation shows that the Gaza Division under the command of Brigadier General Nimrod Aloni was conducted using models and reinforcements of fighters, snipers, armored force and gathering in preparation for disorderly conduct during which an undercover unit fighter was killed in Barel Hadaria Shmueli. A week earlier, Prime Minister Naftali Bennett and Defense Minister Bnei Gantz were in the division and were impressed by the preparations.

Around 4:00 PM, demonstrators began to concentrate in several centers, with the exception of one-off incidents of stone-throwing and attempts to approach the fence. No unusual incidents were recorded. At the same time, Hamas members of the Gaza Division were seen receiving information from the field that Hamas was doubling the forces of the "Safari Gardens", about 120 in the center in front of the Karni crossing area, which were supposed to separate IDF soldiers and protesters and prevent them from reaching the fence.

Around 5:00 PM, about 300 demonstrators arrived in the Karni area and for no apparent reason did not join the keynote speaker's speech and did not wait for prayers.

One of the Palestinians from those hundreds of protesters began to approach the fence and the incident was described as "exceptional."

The commander of the Northern Brigade, Col. Yoav Brunner, left the Knesset in Nahal Oz and reached the wall to monitor the conduct of the fighters from the area.

"His shooting angles are very limited."

The IDF fired deterrents, used means to disperse demonstrations and some of the crowd withdrew. But as the situation worsened and Palestinians tried to storm the wall and fence with large hammers and iron rods to sabotage the area, 10 bullets were approved for the snipers. The emphasis was, according to military sources in the Southern Command, "from the knees down."

The violent disturbance did not subside and the brigadier general again gave permission to fire ten bullets from the knees down. At one point the observations reported sabotage of the fence with hammers and then the brigadier general gave further permission to fire. During the events an order was given to intensify the use of tear gas but the wind was strong west and the forces began to breathe the gas and its use was ineffective. An idea was raised to retreat but there was concern that the destruction of the wall and fence would be severe although in the required achievement of the incident the commanders took into account that there would be damage to the wall and fence but not irreversible damage.

At around 5:30 PM, in one of the incidents, a Palestinian tried to snatch a weapon from a Golani Brigade fighter who had taken the barrel through the firing hole.

The fighter shot and hit a Palestinian in the chest who collapsed on the spot.

Later, according to an interrogation, a Hamas man managed to assimilate into a crowd approaching the border area, armed with a pistol, walking along the wall as he tried to approach the firing slit.

Forces in the area including the observers did not recognize that he was armed.

At this point, the commander of the Northern Brigade authorized Barel to fire.

He put in his weapon and tried to fire and according to the evidence from the field, he identified the armed Palestinian, turned his head back and was hit by one bullet.

At a distance of 2 m from him stood the brigade commander and three veteran CBS fighters who secured him.

Barel collapsed and was quickly evacuated by ambulance.

The investigation reveals that within 52 minutes he arrived at the hospital in Soroka with his condition defined as human.

Immediately after the tragic incident, the brigade commander approved another 40 bullets for the snipers.

Have permission to open fire. "Fear of harming the children came up again and again.

Commanders in the field testified to the inquiry that he had fired at a lot without control and in accordance with the rules of fire were killed in riots, dozens of Palestinians, including children aged 12 coming day will conclude Southern District Commander Major General Eliezer Toledano investigation And will present it to Chief of Staff Lt. Col. Aviv Kochavi unless completion is required.
