The General Cinema Corporation launched this evening the special screening of the decodrama film, Journey 17, directed by the young director Ali Al-Maghout, in a Canadian cinema in Dummar amid an official and cultural presence.

The film, written by Hassan Mustafa, sheds light on one of the heroic epics written by the Syrian Arab Army, as it narrates real real events that occurred in the beginning of 2013 in one of the units of the Syrian Arab Army in Raqqa Governorate, embodying a fateful stage of heroism and sacrifices that our army lived through in cooperation with the people of the region To confront the terrorists and their supporters through a dramatic and documentary narrative that reveals the facts of an eventful journey.

The film presents, in 60 minutes, the true picture of the steadfast, resistant Syrian who defended this land, who withstood the most difficult circumstances and defied death to confront extremism in all its forms and crown his patience with victory, pride and dignity.

Murad Shaheen, director of the General Film Organization, stressed in a speech he delivered before the film was shown the importance of this work, which narrates one of the epics written by the men of the Syrian Arab Army in its war against terrorism as part of an effort by the Ministry of Culture to portray these epics with the aim of documenting the stage on the one hand and defending the Syrian identity on the one hand. Another confirmation of the role of the men of the Syrian Arab Army, without whom we would not be enjoying safety now.

Director Ali Al-Maghout said in a statement to SANA that the film Journey 17 differs from what was presented previously with regard to cinema related to war, especially as it deals with what is known as electronic warfare, where we tried as much as possible to talk about the humanitarian cases that these heroes lived through and then enter into the context of a journey, which is the event that He distinguished this film to become a document for future generations, expressing his happiness at directing his first feature film with a template documenting the war on Syria.

The artist Wadah Halloum, who embodied the character of Colonel Akram Al-Hassan, one of the heroes of the Syrian Arab Army and the commander of the military unit, stressed that the importance of the film comes from the fact that its heroes are real people who are with us, pointing out that dedicating the decoration films is important to remain a beacon that guides everyone who will come after us.

In turn, the artist Karam Al-Shaarani expressed his pride in embodying the personality of Lieutenant-Colonel Shadi, an officer in the Syrian Arab Army, pointing out that he met with the officer who embodied his character, trying to take the details that he felt about his homeland, his family and his companions, to convey honestly and faithfully what these officers embody in terms of heroism and vigor, wishing that the production would be repeated. Such films because the role he played is one of the most important roles in his artistic career.

Actor Tariq Nakhleh, who embodied the character of Lieutenant Muhammad, the officer in our valiant army, considered this film to be of special importance to him as it is the body of a real character still among us, pointing out that Flight 17 came honest and trustworthy by embodying real human and heroic tales.

The role of Umm Yaqoub, the wife of Lieutenant Muhammad, who was embodied by the actress Afra Zeno, in which she demonstrated the steadfastness of the Syrian woman and her patience in this war.

The opening of the film was attended by Dr. Lubana Mushouh, Minister of Culture, Dr. Mahdi Dakhlallah, member of the central leadership of the Arab Socialist Baath Party, General Mahmoud al-Shawa, Deputy Minister of Defense and President of the Supreme Constitutional Court Jihad al-Lahham, a number of members of the People’s Assembly, a number of officers and non-commissioned officers of the heroes of the Syrian Arab Army, and a crowd of intellectuals, artists and media professionals. .
