Nicolas Sarkozy signs Promenades, a book on art and literature

Camille Claudel, Hockney, Rimbaud, Zola… The former head of state recounts his intellectual and cultural journey in a new book published by Herscher editions.

The former president made, this year, not his political but literary comeback.

On September 22, his new book, called

Promenades

will appear

, published by the Herscher house, part of the Humensis group on which the Observatory editions also depend, according to our colleagues from

L'Obs

Three hundred pages devoted to his cultural journey.

In honor of the personal pantheon of the former head of state, Nicolas de Staël, Picasso, Camille Claudel, David Hockney, but also Aragon, Rimbaud, Balzac and Émile Zola.

The occasion, also, to make penetrate its readers in its collection of old books, of which Nicolas Sarkozy took the trouble to make copy some sheets of the original manuscripts which it holds.

While giving pride of place to authors, artists and actors who are dear to him, the author wishes to warn against “cancel culture” (culture of erasure).
