OLED and QLED: When looking for a new television, you will mostly come across these two letter abbreviations.
If you don't go into it further, you might think that these are synonyms.
But in fact, OLED and QLED are two different display technologies.
But how exactly do they differ?

So much
can be revealed beforehand
:
Neither OLED nor QLED can be described as better display technology
.
Both have their own modes of operation and associated minor advantages and disadvantages.
The bottom line is that both ensure an impressive image quality that leaves nothing to be desired.
This is how the display technologies differ from one another:
OLED
: Stands for Organic Light Emitting Diode.
Every single pixel glows organically - without an additional light source.
As a result,
stronger contrasts and darker black tones are
possible
with OLED technology
than with other screens, as the image is not influenced by any additional light.
In addition, OLED televisions do not consist of several layers, which is why they are characterized by extremely thin displays - accordingly, they are also very sensitive.
QLED
: Stands for Quantum Light Emitting Diode.
The most important difference compared to OLED televisions is that the eponymous Quantum Dots in the display are illuminated by a backlight.
The light shines through several thin layers.
QLED is a further development of conventional LED screens, which enables better color fastness, brighter images and also stronger contrasts - but in the latter point, OLED televisions have the edge.
