In a government statement on Wednesday, September 1st, Söder will present the new corona measures, rules and key figures.

After the last government declaration in July, when the topic of climate protection was on the agenda, today it should be about combating the corona crisis again.

From 11 a.m. Markus Söder wants to present the state government's further action in the pandemic in a special session of the Bavarian state parliament.

The state parliament will also vote on the new Corona regulation, which should apply until October 1st.

In Bavaria, a lot will change in terms of the corona pandemic.

Yesterday, the meeting of the Bavarian cabinet was about new corona measures in the Free State.

The biggest change: The seven-day incidence will in future be replaced by the so-called hospital traffic light as an indicator for measuring the incidence of infection.

A few weeks ago, Markus Söder announced a revision of the seven-day incidence.

Due to the progress in vaccination, which, according to information from the Ministry of Health and Care, is currently 58.5 percent in Bavaria, the seven-day incidence is no longer meaningful.

The hospital traffic light, which focuses on the utilization of intensive care units and hospitals in the Free State, is therefore a new indicator.

It is also already known that the 3-G rule will make further easing possible.

In this way, contact restrictions can be excluded if the rule is adhered to, even if the incidence is over 35.

In addition, the FFP2 mask requirement is to be abolished.

From September 2nd, the wearing of surgical masks indoors will also be allowed.

New corona regulation - the corona situation in Bavaria

As in all of Germany, the seven-day incidence of new infections has risen again in Bavaria. The Robert Koch Institute currently registers 70.1 new infections per 100 inhabitants. According to the DIVI intensive care register, the number of Covid-19 intensive care patients increased threefold from 50 to 160 in the past month.
