Gradually, the new triple gym of the Herrsching Realschule is getting a face.
With several heavy loads yesterday and today, the 34-meter-long, 40-ton roof rack was delivered and set up immediately.

After a short winter break, the construction site of the new triple gymnasium at the Herrsching Realschule has been working hard since the beginning of March. Shortly after the groundbreaking ceremony in July last year, however, problems arose. As reported, there were doubts about the building site report and the foundation work had to be expanded. Associated with this was not only a postponement of the completion date by six months to spring 2022, but also an increase in costs. Work is now progressing, but it is clear that the Easter 2022 target cannot be met either. “There will be further delays due to the difficult market situation,” supposes construction manager Sebastian Oefele from the Sommersberger architectural office.
What goes ahead is what can go ahead. This includes that the 34 meter long roof girders, also called trusses, are now delivered and erected. A total of ten of these large construction parts were brought in yesterday or will be brought in today. A spectacular sight. The heavy transports were and are still being carried out via Seestraße, Luitpoldstraße and Rieder Straße to the construction site on Jahnstraße. “The shell will be ready in four weeks,” says Oefele. And as soon as the floor slab is in place, the roof will come over it in October. Little by little, it goes on, depending on how the material is in stock. The delivery problems in the construction industry do not go past the construction of the new secondary school gym.
The future hall will be entered via the spacious foyer of the school on the ground floor. A hallway leads from the foyer to the changing rooms. The individual parts of the hall are accessed via changing rooms and corridors, which are also intended as escape routes. There will be a large equipment room in which a lockable control room is integrated as the center for the stage technology. The new hall replaces the old one and a half gymnasium, which was far too small for the number of students for a long time. The association, school and community had worked on the idea for the urgently needed new building for five years. Because when the school was built 40 years ago, it had almost 700 students in 21 classes, meanwhile more than 1000 students in 37 classes are attending the facility on Jahnstrasse. In recent years, physical education has always had to be avoided.It will also be equipped with a grandstand and a mobile stage, so that in the future it can also be used as an event location for awarding certificates, for example. So far, this also had to be done in the house of Bavarian agriculture.
The new building will be 55 meters long, 35 meters wide and seven meters high. While the access, foyer and changing rooms will be made of exposed concrete, the hall itself will have a translucent, i.e. translucent, facade. Most recently, the cost of the hall was assumed to be 10.3 million. The erected trusses now give an impression of how the hall will look in the future.
