Millions of students opened the new school year this morning (Wednesday), but for some it was a replay of last year, due to the fact that they had to study from home.

The Ministry of Education said that the student attendance rate in kindergartens and schools today stood at more than 90%, but that at the same time 425,000 students did not return to schools, including 110,000 living in authorities defined as red due to the high morbidity in Corona.

In addition to students living in the red authorities, 90,000 students did not come to school because they are in isolation, and 225,000 did not come for other reasons, partly due to parents who were afraid to send their children to kindergartens and schools.
