Holzkirchen

- The Holzkirchen parish church opens the gates for art and culture: The series “St. Filling Josef with life ”is picking up speed again. The parish will put on a program until the end of the year - from solo cantatas by Johann Sebastian Bach and a poetic symbiosis of paintings, poetry and sound through world music and choral singing to Alpine Advent singing. Admission is free on almost all evenings, donations for the musicians are welcome.

Matthias Hefter reveals that the program only lasts four months. It is owed to the fact that the chairman of the parish council and parish association council chairman organized the series every year and no events at all were possible in the first six months of 2021. And then the parish remained cautious for the time being: "In July we didn't dare to make a program," says Hefter, even if a first appointment could take place again after the long corona break. But nothing can happen without planning. Especially since it has to go on somehow for the artists as well. Hefter knows about a cellist who did 100 performances. And if a church is not a good place for faith and hope, what then? "We're getting in now",says Hefter, "and just hope."

Beginning on September 5th with Bach's solo cantatas

The autumn-winter program begins on Sunday, September 5, 2021, from 6 p.m., when soprano Maria Czeiler, who will perform with the Voilà! Opera! presented three solo cantatas by Bach under the direction of Stellario Fagone. The highlights include a performance of "12Monate12Bilder12Lieder" by Miesbacher Cantor Andrea Wehrmann (September 11th), a musically framed Saturday evening mass followed by a concert by Matthias Michael Beckmann on the five-string cello and the head of the church music department of the Archdiocese of Salzburg, Andreas Gassner the organ (September 18), performances by the Munich gospel choir St. Lukas (November 7, admission 15 euros) and Cantica Nova (October 29 and December 19) as well as the Holzkirchen Advent Singing (December 5).Most of the program until the end of December is actually not postponed, but new items.

Of course, like all organizers, the parish must constantly be prepared for rule changes and, if necessary, come to terms with them at short notice. “We have to be surprised,” says Hefter. At the most recent concerts in July, for example, all visitors had to be registered with their name and telephone number when entering, the parish set up a table at the entrance. “That went well.” Sure, an effort. "But for me it is worth the price," emphasizes the organizer. The visit was roughly halved due to Corona. In the spacious, architecturally extraordinary round of the parish church of St. Josef, there is room for 120 individual visitors under the currently valid Corona distance rules, with many couples a little more.

Visitors are asked on the day of the event on the website of the parish association (www.pv-holzkirchen-warngau.de and under the item "More about the parish of Holzkirchen") to check whether the event is really taking place and to find out about the currently valid Corona Rules to inform.

It remains to be seen whether everything can take place.

One thing is certain: The series “St.

Filling Josef with life ”will also survive the second corona year.

Hefter continues to plan diligently: "In my mind, I'm already at 2022."

The full program can be found on the Parish Association's website.
