Green Bundestag candidate Leon Eckert has been traveling in the Freising district for a few days.

Now he made a stop at the fire brigade in Allershausen.

Allershausen

- It was the twelfth day of the tour that the Bundestag candidate for Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen, Leon Eckert, is doing in constituency 214.

Allershausen was the destination on Sunday, where he first paid a visit to the Johanniter and then to the fire brigade.

Because, according to Eckert: Disaster and civil protection are among his main topics.

And there was a lot to talk about and learn from the dialogue with fire department commander Friedrich Moser.

The community of Allershausen has around 6,200 inhabitants, and there are seven vehicles in the vehicle hall - “an unusually large number”, according to Moser, compared to the size of the community.

There is, of course, a reason for this, as the Allershausener Wehr is also responsible for the A 9 federal motorway.

Good team strength in Allershausen

There lies the first problem: The district entrusts this task to the Allershausener Wehr (“You make the A 9”, as Moser put it), and then the municipality can see how it finances the vehicle fleet. Because you don't get more money despite this special task. Then there is the fact that the Free State's funding guidelines change at short intervals, which does not exactly make the procurement of vehicles easier. He would ask again at the Ministry of the Interior, promised Green State MP Johannes Becher, who accompanied Eckert on his bike tour.

There is no problem that plagues other fire brigades in Allershausen: You can occupy the vehicles, the team strength is good at around 80.

The reason, according to Moser: Many Florians are employed by companies in the industrial park, and they would release the fire fighters for work.

"Otherwise we would be lost."

Fire station too small

However, the fire station is now much too small, the access to and the exit from the fire station is a disaster if there is a traffic jam, said Moser.

That is why they are planning a new building - either near the industrial park or at the building yard.

But the planning is still at the very beginning.

About the flood protection ("We already have some experience", so Moser) one came up with the topic of alarms: Moser advised that in order to warn of disasters, one needs a package of WhatsApp, sirens and announcements. In the event of a risk of flooding, the fire brigade in Allershausen drives to the areas that may be affected and rings the doorbell. Because, and there was agreement, the large number of digital disaster reports meant that people would no longer take such warnings seriously. Becher knew that it would make sense to create flood hazard maps that are subsidized by the Free State. And then they agreed on one more point: Retention areas are the be-all and end-all in water protection.
