On the edge of the forest summer there were disagreements between the landlord Christian Fahrenschon and Third Mayor Gerhard Meinl.

After his vacation, town hall chief Michael Müller comments.

Geretsried - For Mayor Michael Müller (CSU) the tablecloth between Christian Fahrenschon, organizer of the Geretsried forest summer, and the city has not yet been cut.

"On our part, there is definitely a willingness to talk," he emphasizes.

Müller was back in office on Wednesday, the first day after a long vacation.

Therefore, when asked by our newspaper, he could and only wanted to comment briefly on the incidents of the past week.

As reported, Fahrenschon ended the forest summer a day earlier than agreed because he felt that Müller's deputy Gerhard Meinl (CSU) was not treating him very accommodatingly.

In bad weather and with hardly any visitors, the landlord wanted to hire fewer security personnel than had been regulated by a notice, which Meinl refused.

“Notices must be adhered to,” says Müller clearly behind the Third Mayor and the municipal regulatory office. Security has priority in Corona times. It is impossible to imagine what would have happened if the number of infections in the district had increased significantly due to the forest summer due to negligence on the part of the town hall, he says. An organizer has to understand that.

After Christian Fahrenschon terminates the contract with the city, which is automatically renewed annually, it will put the summer party out to tender again as soon as possible.

"Every landlord has to plan in good time when the next season starts for him in March," says Müller.

The Fahrenschon family are welcome to apply again.

"I wish that after the dispute there would be calm again," says the town hall chief.

It is clear to him that Geretsried wants to have a folk festival in 2022 - always taking into account the development of the pandemic.

Müller: "I haven't seen it any other way since I was a child and I definitely don't want to be without it."

Christian Fahrenschon announced this on Wednesday.
