Everyone who flies must know: the confusing laws on the way to a vacation abroad | Israel Today

2021-09-02T09:42:43.987Z

From tomorrow, those who meet the criteria can return from most countries of the world without full isolation in Israel • Who must be isolated, where is it allowed to fly and what do you do before and after the flight? All the known and many laws that many do not yet know • Order in a hurry

The Ministry of Health announced earlier this week that anyone who meets the criteria can return from orange countries without the need for full isolation back to Israel.

In recent days we have examined several issues with the Ministry of Health and if you are interested in flying abroad, you should know all the guidelines that will take effect tomorrow.

• Those who meet the criteria for eliminating isolation back to Israel are those who were vaccinated in the third dose and waited a week, those who passed less than half a year from their second vaccine dose, those who recovered less than six months ago and those who recovered and received at least one vaccine.

• Those who meet the criteria and have already returned from abroad in recent days, but are still required to enter isolation because the decision will only take effect tomorrow, will be able to automatically leave isolation tomorrow, if they return from an orange country.

• Those who have been vaccinated with two doses or recovered, but have more than half a year received the second dose of vaccination or recovery, are exempt from isolation back from yellow countries also during the next week.

• Those who have been vaccinated or recovered abroad and are allowed to enter Israel (holders of an Israeli passport), are still required to be isolated and even if a serological examination is performed, even if they were vaccinated less than six months ago or received the third dose abroad.

The Ministry of Health clarifies that the issue is currently under discussion.

• Even those who are exempt from full isolation back to Israel from orange countries, are required to enter isolation for 24 hours or until they receive the results of the corona tests that will be performed after landing at Ben Gurion Airport (whichever is earlier).

• Anyone who flies abroad must perform a corona test within 72 hours before returning to Israel, if he has been abroad for more than 72 hours, even if resilient or recovered and from any destination in the world.

Recoverers from the recent period can receive an exemption from an examination before returning to Israel, due to the possibility that they will receive a positive answer to the examination even after they have recovered.

The process is recommended to be performed in advance with the Ministry of Health.

• A person who received the third vaccine is exempt from isolation only if he left the country at least seven days after receiving the third dose.

If he left the country before, the person vaccinated with the third dose will be able to return 14 days after receiving the third dose and even in this case, he will be exempt from isolation.

If he leaves the country before seven days have passed (for example on the third day) and the vaccinated person returns in the third dose 14 days before the day of vaccination, his isolation days will be shortened.

For example: Moshe flew to Greece three days after receiving the third dose and returned to Israel a week later (ten days from the date of vaccination), Moshe will be required to have four days of isolation in Israel, until he completes the 14 days from the date of vaccination.

If Moshe had returned four days later, he would have been exempt from isolation except for the short isolation until he received the answer to the corona test he performed after landing at Ben Gurion Airport.

• Currently, all but four countries in the world are defined as orange or yellow and it is allowed to fly for all of them without the need for approval of an exceptions committee and of course, if they accept Israelis.

• The four countries that are defined as red and are not allowed to fly to them without the approval of the Exceptions Committee and all those who return from them, including those vaccinated and recovering, are committed to isolation: Turkey, Brazil, Mexico and Bulgaria.

Those who fly without a permit to the same destinations are expected to be fined NIS 5,000.

• Anyone over the age of 16 and leaving Israel is required to fill out an outgoing passenger form.

Everyone who returns to Israel is required to fill out an entry form before returning to Israel and everyone is required to perform a corona check after landing at Ben Gurion Airport.
