Before going public, the municipality wants to first discuss the results with those affected.

- Even after the hailstorm in July 2020, the municipality had given its first thoughts on how to avoid the increasingly frequent floods in the village.
In January of this year, the municipal council finally commissioned RIWA GmbH, Gesellschaft für Geoinformation, with the preparation of an expert opinion on the subject of flood management.
The recent heavy rain events, which caused severe flooding in parts of the community (we reported), have underlined the urgency of a concept.
Specifically, it is about the questions of where the water masses come from in thunderstorms in the community enthroned on a moraine hill, where they flow to and what possible solutions are there against flash floods such as on Osterhofener Straße.
"The results are now available," said Rainer Kopnicky on Tuesday in the municipal council meeting. The mayor did not want to reveal details yet. This had been agreed with the group chairmen and the administration. "We will first discuss the results in mid-September together with the company RIWA, the parliamentary group chairmen and those most affected at the focal points and try to work out solutions." RIWA will also make suggestions at these meetings. Then they want to publish a brochure, a kind of citizen information and inform the public via the press and municipal newspaper about the further procedure.
Kopnicky, who clearly cares about a solution to the flood problems in his community, emphasized that the issue can only be solved "if we all help together".
The company RIWA sees it that way too.
The community, private property owners and those affected have to work together, according to the experts, in order to improve the current situation.

Kopnicky once again addressed one of the main problems with recent storms. The flash floods are very difficult to get under control if, within a few minutes, massive hail, leaves and branches clog all gullies. “Nevertheless, we have to try to improve our rain drainage system. If we know where the water comes from, we may be able to divert it beforehand, pump it off or hold it back and then let it drain off with a delay as soon as the storm is over. ”Another question that arises is what private property owners can do to protect their property . Kopnicky suspects: "We are facing a mammoth task."
In connection with the increasing heavy rain events, said the town hall chief, an almost forgotten topic was also taken from the moth box: hail fliers.
Such aircraft are still stationed in the Rosenheim district.
"In the mayor's official meeting on September 27," said Kopnicky, "we want to discuss whether our district can also imagine such flight missions with us".
The discussion should also include possible effects on the environment - hail planes spray silver iodide, which, to put it simply, allows hail clouds to rain down earlier - as well as the costs.
He, said Kopnicky, was “at least ready to pay our obolus as the municipality of Königsdorf if the use of hail planes can prevent or mitigate storms”.
