A con artist stole almost 1,500 euros from an 81-year-old householder over the phone.

The perpetrator, who called himself Hendrik Miller, asked his victim to buy payment cards.

Hausham - An 81-year-old housewife was the victim of calls from a bogus Microsoft employee over a period of six days.

The injured party was told by the perpetrator that his PC was hacked, said Miesbach police department.

The caller first contacted his victim last Friday.

Up until yesterday, Wednesday, September 1st, the householder was asked several times to buy payment cards at supermarkets and petrol stations - "whatever the householder did," the police officers wrote in a statement.

Supermarkets asked about the reason to buy - the petrol station refused to hand over the payment cards

“Although the 81-year-old was asked in the supermarkets why he needed so many cards, he bought 29 payment cards for 50 euros each.” Then he scratched off the codes and handed them over to the perpetrator.

In a gas station, the householder was even denied the purchase of the many payment cards - but this did not seem to irritate the 81-year-old.

According to the police, the perpetrator called himself Henrik Miller, spoke in German with an English accent and always called various foreign telephone numbers.

The penny fell only yesterday: The house owner bought payment cards again - this time 16 pieces for 25 euros each in a supermarket.

"However, he did not give the codes to the perpetrator," wrote the police.

Perpetrator stated to repay money - no receipt of money at the house bank

The perpetrator stated that the money on the payment cards would be paid back and that the 81-year-old could watch on his account.

"The housekeeper let the perpetrator into his computer using the team viewer and a TAN was generated in the online account," the officials said.

But: After consulting the house bank, the booking did not come about this morning.

"It is pointed out again and again that the phone should hang up for such calls," appealed the police.
