"Everything that happens with climate change leaves its mark on the extreme events that we are seeing, mainly due to global warming," says Ricardo Álvarez, member of the Board of Directors of Climate Power Florida.
The remnants of Hurricane Ida tore through the northeastern United States on Wednesday, causing dangerous flooding and tornadoes in several states.
Álvarez says that the higher the temperature, the more humidity and this causes an increase in billions of tons of water that translates into extreme rains.
