District - There was no nightlife for a long year and a half - discos should be allowed to reopen from October, the cabinet decided on Tuesday.

In addition, the curfew in gastronomy is to fall from now on.

District - The joy of some club operators in the district is still limited - not because of the three-G rule that prescribes a PCR test for discos, in contrast to the food service industry, where a quick test is sufficient. "The past has shown that the situation can change again quickly," says Christoph Simon from the Spinnradl at Spitzingsee. “It's not October yet. When the number of infections goes up, which can be expected for autumn, politicians will probably come up with something new again. ”Nevertheless, he is in good spirits, says Simon,“ but not overzealous ”. His around 50 employees - most of them part-time - will almost all be back at work from October.

The downside is the mandatory PCR test.

In the district - unlike in Munich - there is no station that delivers the result on the same day.

“If a quick test were sufficient, we could set up a test station at the entrance,” says Simon.

But he doesn't want to complain: "Mei, that's the way it is now." One thing is clear to him: "As soon as we are allowed to open again, we'll do that too."

Miesbach

Martin Jacobi, owner of Martin's Bar on the first floor of the historic toy store in downtown Miesbach, followed the cabinet decision. He did have his bar licensed as a food service provider in autumn 2020, which is why he is allowed to receive guests inside again in compliance with the three-G rule. However, bar service at the bar is not permitted; there must be a distance of one and a half meters between the tables. Jacobi hopes - similar to the discotheques - to be able to go into regular operation from October. “We want to be a classic bar again,” says the restaurateur. In particular, he hoped to be able to receive a standing audience again. "That also defines the atmosphere." Jacobi is confidentthen to be able to put the tables closer together - and to be able to fully utilize his restaurant.

The three-G rule is already being checked at a station at the entrance. "There the guest has to be patient for a moment and is accompanied to his seat after presenting the vaccination test or recovery certificate." Jacobi is critical of the fact that the sociability that is allowed again from October and which is characteristic of nightlife is linked to a PCR test . "It would be desirable if the test possibilities in our district were to improve again in this regard."

Jacobi got through the lockdown well.

Instead of complaining, he created the Piazzagoals with the market cafe - and thus an opportunity to enjoy drinks outdoors.

He also works with the Stadlbergalm.

“Usually we do our main business in winter so we can afford a summer break.

We turned that around during the pandemic and were very busy in the summer. "

Tegernsee

At the Quantum Club in Tegernsee, things start again this Friday: “It takes a load off our hearts that the curfew will fall”, says managing director Andrea Alexander.

“This is the first step towards normality.” After all, the Quantum is a nightspot, and having to close at 1 o'clock is “a joke”.

In view of the pandemic-related staff shortage in the industry, the club will only open until 3 a.m. for the time being.

“The processes have to get used to them first.” Alexander hopes to get the guests used to the fact that loud music and dancing are still forbidden.

But she is confident that the opening of the discos from October will bring more freedom here.

"I think it will be more relaxed then."

Wooden churches

Josef Bos, who runs Awa's Pub in Holzkirchen, remains skeptical.

“After all the back and forth in the past, we are insecure and want to wait and see.” The pub is currently being renovated anyway.

"We will probably not be able to complete the renovation by October and will probably not reopen until next year."

By the way: Everything from the region is now also available in our new, regular Miesbach newsletter.
