Tzlil Platkov, the partner of the late Barel Hadaria Shmueli, a border soldier who was killed this week on the Gaza border, posted a heartbreaking and moving post on Instagram in which she paid tribute to him.
She wrote that she felt something was wrong because he did not respond to her messages, and realized that something was happening when she saw news of an undercover man being injured.
She went on to write: "On Monday morning, I gave you the last hug, the last kiss."
Despite the surge in morbidity, today the Panjoya Festival begins in Eilat, which includes parties of thousands of students and huge performances for an entire weekend.
Eilat residents protested the festival for fear of mass infection, and senior members of the health system also demanded an immediate restriction on gatherings at the event.
According to them, this is a high-risk event.
