New York (CNN Business) -

Joe Rogan, one of the most influential and highest-paid podcast hosts in the world, announced Wednesday that he tested positive for COVID-19 and said he had embarked on a marginal treatment regimen.

In a video posted on her official Instagram account, Rogan said she felt "very tired" on Saturday and was tested for covid-19 the next day.

He said that before the test he quarantined his family and "throughout the night, I had a fever and sweats and I knew what was happening."

Rogan reveals her positive diagnosis after she ruled out the vaccine's usefulness to some extent on her podcast, "The Joe Rogan Experience," which is available exclusively on Spotify (SPOT).

In April, Rogan told listeners that if a 21-year-old asked him if they should get vaccinated, he would suggest that they not.

"If you are a healthy person and you exercise all the time, you are young and you eat well, I don't think you should worry about this," said Rogan.

He later clarified his comments, saying that he "is not an anti-vax person" and that "he is not a respected source of information, not even for me."

Rogan did not say in the video published Wednesday if he had been vaccinated.

He said in an April podcast that he was scheduled to receive the Johnson & Johnson vaccine before its application was stopped.

In Wednesday's video, Rogan said she took a number of medications after her diagnosis, including the deworming drug ivermectin, the use of which has become popular among the fringe and anti-vaccine communities, and which US health officials have advised against.

Spotify signed an exclusive licensing agreement with Rogan in May 2020 and has repeatedly touted his success in his company's earnings reports.

Spotify CEO Daniel Ek stood by and promoted the podcast host amid controversy over Rogan's April comments.

Ek told Bloomberg at the time: "What I will say is that we have 8 million creators and hundreds of millions of pieces of content. We have a content policy and we remove the pieces that violate it."

Spotify did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Rogan said she postponed her show in Nashville, which was scheduled for Friday.

"My apologies to all," said Rogan.

"Obviously it is nothing that I can control. It is what it is. We are living in crazy times."
