Re-evaluation of some regulatory blocs of the seafront in Tartous within a week

A meeting in Tartous governorate was devoted to studying the organizational scheme of the eastern facade of the sea corniche in the city of Tartous and addressing the observations that prevent its issuance. Assigning those concerned in the Ministry of Public Works and Housing and the parties concerned with the scheme to re-evaluate some of the organizational blocks in order to achieve architectural harmony within a week to be decided upon as soon as possible .

SANA’s reporter in Tartous stated that the meeting, which took place in the Tartous City Council, was attended by the Ministers of Local Administration and Environment, Eng. Hussein Makhlouf, Public Works and Housing Eng. Suhail Abdel Latif, Tartous Governor Safwan Abu Saada, and Tartous City Council Chairman, with the participation of all concerned parties from the Ministry of Public Works and Housing and the General Company for Engineering Studies. The governorate, the Tartous City Council, the study body “Tishreen University” and experts from the University of Damascus discussed the issue of amending the organizational scheme of the eastern facade of the sea corniche in the city of Tartous and addressing the observations that prevent its issuance.

During the meeting, the foundations adopted in preparing the study and the points that were adopted were discussed, including dismantling the real estate entanglement, addressing the multiplicity of ownership, and liberating the properties of the City Council in line with Decree No. 5 of 1982 and its amendments and the applicable planning foundations.

Those concerned in the Ministry of Public Works and Housing, the General Company for Engineering Studies, the study authority, those concerned in the governorate and the city council were assigned to re-evaluate some of the organizational blocks in order to achieve architectural harmony between the blocks resulting from the study and the surrounding space, especially the huge organizational blocks and other observations of the Ministry of Housing, within a week to be held Next Thursday, the meeting will be decided upon as soon as possible.

It is noteworthy that the eastern facade of the sea corniche is the facade of the city of Tartus on the Mediterranean Sea and extends from the Ghamka River in the south to the Chamber of Commerce and Industry near the old city in the north, with a length of about 1910 meters and a width ranging between 30 and 130 meters and includes a large number of real estate distributed over 35 divisions.
